Work-related injuries of rehabilitation therapists and measures for prevention.

Background: Rehabilitation therapists often perform physically demanding treatments that may result in work-related injuries, yet related studies are scarce. This study aimed to investigate the work-related injuries of rehabilitation therapists and provide feasible preventive measures.

Methods: A cross-sectional study was carried out in 34 regions across China using an online questionnaire.

Construction and application of medication reminder system: intelligent generation of universal medication schedule.

Background: Patients with chronic conditions need multiple medications daily to manage their condition. However, most patients have poor compliance, which affects the effectiveness of treatment. To address these challenges, we establish a medication reminder system for the intelligent generation of universal medication schedule (UMS) to remind patients with chronic diseases to take medication accurately and to improve safety of home medication.

Predictive and Prognostic Potentials of Lymphocyte-C-Reactive Protein Ratio Upon Hospitalization in Adult Patients with Acute Pancreatitis.

Purpose: In this study, our objective was to investigate the potential utility of lymphocyte-C-reactive protein ratio (LCR) as a predictor of disease progression and a screening tool for intensive care unit (ICU) admission in adult patients with acute pancreatitis (AP).

Methods: We included a total of 217 adult patients with AP who were admitted to the First Affiliated Hospital of Harbin Medical University between July 2019 and June 2022. These patients were categorized into three groups: mild AP (MAP), moderately severe AP (MSAP), and severe AP (SAP), based on the presence and duration of organ dysfunction.

Thalassemia is an inherited blood disorder imposing a significant social and economic burden. Comprehensive screening strategies are essential for the prevention and management of this disease. Third-generation sequencing (TGS), a breakthrough technology, has shown great potential for screening and diagnostic applications in various diseases, while its application in thalassemia detection is still in its infancy.

Long-term efficacy and adverse reactions of IMRT combined with Endostar versus IMRT combined with chemotherapy for locally advanced nasopharyngeal carcinoma: a retrospective study.

Background: This study aimed to analyze the long-term efficacy and late adverse reactions of intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) combined with recombinant human endostatin (Endostar) versus IMRT combined with concurrent chemotherapy (CCT) in patients with locoregionally advanced nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC).

Methods: This was a retrospective analysis of twenty-three NPC stage III-IVA patients treated with IMRT + Endostar or IMRT + CCT. Patients in the IMRT + Endostar group (n=10) received a total of 2 cycles of Endostar, while patients in the IMRT + CCT group (n=13) received a total of 3 cycles of concurrent cisplatin chemotherapy.

Methods: Use the drugs in the Beers Criteria 2019 potentially inappropriate medication use (PIM) list as search terms. Search for drugs registered on the National Medical Products Administration of China website before December 2019 to determine the drugs containing PIM active ingredients and, then, search the Chinese OTC selection and conversion catalog database to determine it as OTC.

Ambulatory care pharmacy practice in China: status and future efforts.

In recent years, as the era of deepening healthcare reform in China progresses, there is a gradual development of ambulatory care pharmacy practice. This commentary reviews the current state of ambulatory care pharmacy practice in China and discusses future efforts to advance the practice. Areas of focus include practice standardization, transitions of care, and reimbursements of ambulatory care pharmacy practice.

Citrulline (Cit) supplementation was proposed to serve as a therapeutic intervention to restore arginine (Arg) concentrations and improve related functions in sepsis. This study explored whether citrulline had positive effects on liver injury and cytokine release in the early stages of sepsis. The cecal ligation and puncture (CLP) model was utilized in our study.

Raltitrexed plus oxaliplatin-based transarterial chemoembolization in patients with unresectable hepatocellular carcinoma.

Raltitrexed has shown efficacy and safety in many tumor types; however, the clinical data on the treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma is rare. In this report, we aim to assess the efficacy and safety of raltitrexed plus oxaliplatin (OXA)-based transarterial chemoembolization (TACE) in patients with unresectable hepatocellular carcinoma (uHCC). Patients with uHCC were recruited from multi-centers in China and assigned randomly to raltitrexed+OXA-based (n=76), fluorouracil+OXA-based (n=76), and doxorubicin+OXA-based (n=75) TACE treatment.

[Application of the tragus cartilage ring with perichondrium in open-ended tympanoplasty].
