Introduction: Although decreasing, maternal and infant mortality remain high in Malawi with and estimated 359 per 100,000 live births for maternal mortality ratios, and 22.4 per 1000 live births for infant mortality. Joyful Motherhood (JM), or Chimwemwe mu'bereki, is a Malawian nonprofit organization, founded by a US midwife in 2008, which provides home-based care to high-risk, critically ill postpartum women and infants in rural villages of Lilongwe, Malawi.

Integrated behavioral health services have positive outcomes for patients and providers, but little is known about providers' perspectives on implementing these services. This community-based participatory research collaboration with a Federally Qualified Health Center examined provider perspectives on implementing a collaborative psychiatry consultation program in pediatric primary care. We interviewed providers (N = 14) from psychiatry, social work, primary care, and psychology regarding their experiences implementing the program, and their recommendations for its sustainability.

Social researchers continue to strive to understand the development and social decision-making processes of homeless adolescents. While it has been established that attachment is a salient factor with regard to childhood maltreatment and later psychosocial problems, there is a dearth of information on how homeless youths' thoughts and feelings about attachment may also be linked to behavioral risks including alcohol and substance use. This exploratory study examines older homeless adolescent's perspectives on attachment, trauma, and substance use via the semistructured Adult Attachment Interview and survey data.

Issues And Purpose: To review the epidemiology and etiology of risky sexual behavior in adolescent women, and to discuss implications for primary prevention.
Conclusion: Adolescent women who participate in risky sexual behavior are at risk for sexually transmitted infections, including HIV. Black, Hispanic, and out-of-home adolescent women, however, are at greatest risk.
