Objectives: The objective of this review is to provide a comprehensive overview of the utilization of Raman spectroscopy in urinary system diseases, highlighting its potential in non-invasive diagnostic methodologies for early diagnosis and prognostic assessment of urinary ailments.
Methods: We searched PubMed, Web of Science, and Google Scholar using 'raman,' 'bladder,' 'kidney,' 'prostate,' 'cancer,' 'infection,' 'stone or urinary calculi,' and 'urine or urinary,' along with 'AND' and 'OR' to refine our search. We excluded irrelevant articles and screened potential ones based on titles and abstracts before assessing the full texts for relevance and quality.

Introduction: Ovarian Cancer (OC) was known for its high mortality rate among gynecological malignancies, often resulting in a poor prognosis. This study sought to identify prognostic necroptosis-related long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) (NRlncRNAs) with prognostic potential and to construct a reliable risk prediction model for OC patients.
Method: The transcriptome and clinic data were sourced from TCGA and GTEx databases.

Integrating dietary interventions have been extensively studied for their health benefits, such as Alzheimer's disease, Huntington's disease, and aging. However, it is necessary to fully understand the mechanisms of long-term effects and practical applications of these dietary interventions for health. A 10-week intermittent fasting (IMF) regimen was implemented on the aging animals in the current study.

Background: Tumor-derived small extracellular vesicles (sEVs) play an essential role in reprogramming the tumor microenvironment. Metabolic reprogramming is an essential prerequisite for M2 polarization of tumor-associated macrophages (TAMs). This M2 phenotype is closely related to the immune dysfunction of CD8 T cells and subsequent tumor progression.

Background: The development of resistance to oxaliplatin is a multifaceted process, often involving modifications in drug transport, DNA repair mechanisms, and the ability of cells to evade drug-induced apoptosis.
Objective: To evaluate whether knocking down RFC3 promotes the sensitivity of colorectal cancer (CRC) cells to oxaliplatin, potentially offering a new approach to combat drug resistance.
Methods: siRNA-mediated knockdown of RFC3 was employed in colorectal cancer cell lines to assess the impact on oxaliplatin responsiveness.

Introduction: AE and whether the inhibition of the MyD88 inflammatory pathway can enhance Ghrelin expression to collaboratively modulate AE progression remains unclear.
Methods: In this study, we evaluated Ghrelin serum levels and changes in TLR4/MyD88/NF-κB pathway proteins and inflammatory factors in AE patients and mouse models at different stages of infection (-4, -8, and -12 weeks). Additionally, we administered the MyD88 inhibitor TJ-M2010-5 intraperitoneally to infected mice to evaluate alterations in inflammation and Ghrelin levels, as well as disease progression.

Background: Fibrinopurulent thorax is a rare condition that can lead to respiratory failure. Fibroblastic decortication surgery has been shown to be an effective treatment for chronic empyema in previous studies. However, there is limited evidence supporting surgical intervention for fibrinopurulent thorax in cases of respiratory failure.

M2 macrophage-derived extracellular vesicles (M2-EVs) demonstrate the capacity to reduce pro-inflammatory M1 macrophage formation, thereby restoring the M1-M2 macrophage balance and promoting immunoregulation. However, the efficacy of M2-EVs in regulating macrophage polarization and subsequently enhancing osseointegration around titanium (Ti) implants in patients with diabetes mellitus (DM) remains to be elucidated. In this study, Ti implants were coated with polydopamine to facilitate M2-EVs adherence.

More attention should be paid to the deviations between the actual diameter of the rhexis reference circle which projected by the Image-guided systems and its intended size, and assess the influence of ocular biometric parameters on the deviation. In this study, the Callisto eye image-guided system was employed to generate a digital rhexis reference circle (rhexis overlay) set at an intended diameter of 6 mm and a screenshot of the video was taken at the end of the cataract surgery, then to compare the deviation between the observed rhexis overlay diameter (ROD) and the optic diameter (6 mm). The factors influencing diameter deviation were identified with univariate and multivariate linear regression.

Background: Allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (allo-HSCT) is recommended for patients with KMT2A-rearranged (KMT2A-r) leukemia whereas relapse remains high. We aimed to determine whether intensified conditioning containing decitabine (Dec) could reduce relapse compared with standard myeloablative conditioning in adult patients with KMT2A-r leukemia.
Methods: We performed a multicenter retrospective study at seven institutions in China.

Virus-encoding RNA-dependent RNA polymerase (RdRp) is essential for genome replication and gene transcription of human coronaviruses (HCoVs), including severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). We previously identified the interaction between the catalytic subunit NSP12 of SARS-CoV-2 RdRp and the host protein CREB-regulated transcription coactivator 3 (CRTC3), a member of the CRTC family that regulates cyclic AMP response element-binding protein (CREB)-mediated transcriptional activation. Currently, the implication of CRTC3 in the pathogenesis of HCoVs is poorly understood.

Persistent myocardial impairment proved by histopathologic studies universally existed in patients with Kawasaki disease (KD); however, the long-term effects on myocardial contractile reserve in KD patients, especially on patients without coronary artery lesions (CALs), is still unknown. The aim of this study was to investigate myocardial contractile reserve in KD patients during late convalescent stage by speckle-tracking adenosine triphosphate (AT) echocardiography. A total of 63 antecedent KD patients at least 4 years after the disease onset and 40 age- and gender-matched normal controls were prospectively enrolled.

Background: Due to its potent antibacterial activity, vancomycin is widely used in the treatment of sepsis. Therapeutic drug monitoring (TDM) can optimize personalized vancomycin dosing regimens, enhancing therapeutic efficacy and minimizing nephrotoxic risk, thereby potentially improving patient outcomes. However, it remains uncertain whether TDM affects the mortality rate among sepsis patients or whether age plays a role in this outcome.

Aims: High telomerase activity has been detected in over 85 % of tumors, with the activation of hTERT being the most crucial mechanism for re-establishing telomerase activity. Activation of hTERT maintains telomere length in cells, enabling cancer cells to proliferate indefinitely. Nevertheless, the specific mechanism of telomerase activation in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) remains unclear, and post-transcriptional regulation of hTERT could be a potential activation mechanism.

Relapsed or refractory T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia/lymphoma (r/r T-ALL/LBL) are frequently aggressive and associated with unfavorable prognoses. Pan-targeted Chimeric Antigen Receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy have shown promising results in clinical trials. In recent years, CD7 CAR T-cell and CD5 CAR T-cell demonstrate effectiveness in treating r/r T-ALL/LBL patients with bone marrow infiltration.
