Objective: To analyze the results of surgical treatment of discrete subaortic stenosis and identify the main factors of left ventricular outflow tract (LVOT) restenosis in long-term postoperative period.
Material And Methods: There were 87 surgical interventions in 63 patients with congenital subaortic stenosis between 2008 and 2023. Mean preoperative peak systolic LVOT pressure gradient was 72 mmHg (50-110 mmHg).
Aim: To analyze the relationship between the occurrence of atrial fibrillation (AF) and thyroid dysfunction caused by low concentrations of free triiodothyronine (FT3), free triiodothyronine and free thyroxine (FT3 and FT4), and high concentrations of free thyroxine (FT4) with normal values of thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) in experiments on outbred rats.
Material And Methods: The pathogenesis of AF with low concentrations of FT3, FT3 and FT4, and a high concentration of FT4 was studied in an experiment on 146 outbred rats. In the experiment, hypothyroidism, euthyroidism, and thyrotoxicosis were modeled by changing the concentrations of thyroid hormones, and the effect of these conditions on ECG and the incidence of AF was evaluated.

Colonizing populations at the leading edge of range expansion are expected to have a reduced genetic diversity and strong genetic structure caused by genetic drift and allele surfing. Until now, few studies have found the genetic signatures of allele surfing in expanding wild populations. Using mtDNA markers, we studied the genetic structure of the population of midday gerbils () expanding their range to the west in Kalmykia (southern Russia) following the new cycle of desertification, re-colonizing areas abandoned in the mid-2010s.

The functional traits of soil protists have been employed in ecological research to enhance comprehension of the underlying mechanisms of ecological processes. Among the numerous soil protists, testate amoebae emerge as a prominent and abundant group, playing a pivotal role in soil micro-food webs. Furthermore, they are regarded as valuable bioindicators for environmental monitoring and palaeoecological studies due to their sensitivity to environmental changes.

The relationship between species diversity and spatial scale is a central topic in spatial community ecology. Latitudinal gradient is among the core mechanisms driving biodiversity distribution on most scales. Patterns of β-diversity along latitudinal gradient have been well studied for aboveground terrestrial and marine communities, whereas soil organisms remain poorly investigated in this regard.

There is scarce evidence of a relationship between positive and psychosomatic characteristics. This study aimed to examine the associations of somatic burden with psychological resources such as optimism, resilience, and general self-efficacy. Russian participants (n = 1020) completed measures of psychological resources at Time 1 and somatic symptoms at Time 2.

Background: Testate amoebae are a polyphyletic group of unicellular eukaryotic organisms that are characterised by a rigid shell and inhabit mostly freshwater and terrestrial ecosystems. They are particularly abundant in peatlands, especially in -dominated biotopes. Peatland hydrology is the most important influence on testate amoebae communities.

Objective: The literature review addresses the effectiveness of psychotherapeutic methods in the treatment of functional abdominal pain syndrome and studying the prospects for using virtual reality technology in combination with psychotherapeutic methods according to the available literature.
Material And Methods: A search was conducted for available literature in the eLibrary and PubMed databases, published for the period 2017-2022, using the keywords: abdominalgia, psychotherapeutic methods, gut-brain axis, virtual reality technology.
Results: Currently, the biopsychosocial concept of the etiopathogenesis of abdominal pain syndrome, which is not associated with an organic disease of the gastrointestinal tract, is used.

The purpose of the study was to identify factors characterizing a decrease in LV global systolic function in patients with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) after revascularization using cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)-based ischemic injury pattern and laboratory parameters sensu left ventricular global systolic function. A total of 109 STEMI patients were examined. The patients underwent contrast-enhanced cardiac MRI with a 1.

Previous efforts to reconstruct evolutionary history of Palearctic ground squirrels within the genus Spermophilus have primarily relied on a single mitochondrial marker for phylogenetic data. In this study, we present the first phylogeny with comprehensive taxon sampling of Spermophilus via a conventional multilocus approach utilizing five mitochondrial and five nuclear markers. Through application of the multispecies coalescent model, we constructed a species tree revealing four distinct clades that diverged during the Late Miocene.

A rare clinical case of a newborn boy with a diagnosed Potter sequence is presented. The diagnosis was made based on polycystic dysplasia of the kidneys, cysts in the liver, hypoplasia of the lungs and characteristic external signs due to critical oligohydramnios. The child's parents were closely related, which suggested an autosomal recessive form of the disease.

Objective: Based on objective criteria of the structural and functional state of the kidneys in various urgent surgical and uronephrological pathologies (peritonitis, pancreonecrosis, intestinal obstruction, urinary peritonitis, acute purulent secondary pyelonephritis) to identify and prove the general pattern of development of renal changes, their influence on the pathogenesis of homeostasis disorders at the organizational level and to form the evidence base of a new symptom complex - renal distress syndrome in surgery and uronephrology; to establish the effectiveness of Remaxol in its correction.
Material And Methods: Experimentally on 60 mongrel dogs with acute peritonitis, pancreatitis, intestinal obstruction of varying severity, the state of renal function, including detoxification, was assessed based on the assessment of the inflow-outflow difference in the level of toxins and in the parenchyma of organs - the composition of lipids, the activity of peroxidation of membrane lipids and phospholipases. Clinical and laboratory studies included patients with acute peritonitis (48), acute pancreatitis (18), intestinal obstruction (21), acute purulent secondary pyelonephritis (19).
Introduction: A thorough knowledge of the anatomy and variability of the pterygomandibular space (PMS) is essential to the success of local anesthesia. This study is aimed at determining the volume of the PMS depending on the shape of the skull, face and mandible using the computed tomography (CT).
Materials And Methods: anonymized computed tomograms of 48 adult patients were analyzed, the indicators of the cranial index (CI), facial index (FI) according to Yzard, the high lengthy index of the mandible (HLI), the latitudinal-altitude index of the mandible (LAI), the longitudinal latitude index of the mandible (LLI) were calculated.
A study was made of the structure of mortality of the population of the Penza region from diseases of the liver and biliary tract in 2021-2022. Data on registered deaths were analyzed, the main cause of which was non-tumor diseases of the liver and biliary tract (excluding hepatitis B, C). Statistical calculations were carried out using the STATISTICA program.

The article is aimed at solving the problem of parametric identification of non-linear object models using the example of a mathematical model of the micro-arc oxidation process. An algorithm for parametric identification, based on an experiment in the micro-arc oxidation process, the results of which form a training and control sample is proposed; sequential training of neural networks and calculation of the parameters estimates of the nonlinear model according to experimental data are performed. Experimental testing of the proposed method of neural network parametric identification on the example of the micro-arc oxidation process confirmed that the standard deviation of current and voltage from the nominal values does not exceed ±4%.
