Infertility is closely related to obesity. Relative fat mass (RFM) is a newer index for assessing percentage of body fat, which reflects the amount of body fat better than body mass index (BMI), but its relationship with infertility needs further study. The purpose of this study was to assess whether there was an association between RFM and infertility in women aged 20 to 44 years in the United States.

Unlabelled: The objectives of this study are to examine the disparities in serum and intestinal tissue metabolites between a perimenopausal rat model and control rats and to analyze the diversity and functionality of intestinal microorganisms to determine the potential correlation between intestinal flora and metabolites. We established a rat model of perimenopausal syndrome (PMS) and performed an integrated analysis of metabolome and microbiome. Orthogonal partial least-squares discriminant analysis scores and replacement tests indicated distinct separations of anion and cation levels between serum and intestinal samples of the model and control groups.

Article Synopsis
  • The study aimed to assess the effectiveness of group pelvic floor education workshops on participants' knowledge, satisfaction, and changes in urinary and digestive habits, while also comparing healthcare providers' knowledge to that of the general population.
  • The workshops were conducted online from May 2021 to June 2022 and included discussions on pelvic floor anatomy, physiology, risk factors for pelvic floor disorders, and preventive measures; participants filled out questionnaires before and after to measure changes in knowledge and behavior.
  • Results indicated a significant increase in pelvic floor knowledge for both healthcare providers and non-providers, with many participants reporting improved understanding and a willingness to change their urinary and digestive behaviors after the workshops.

Objective: To observe the therapeutic effect of Si-Ni-San (SNS) on interstitial cystitis/bladder pain syndrome (IC/BPS) in rats, and explore the possible regulatory mechanism of SNS on IC/BPS combined with transcriptome analysis.

Methods: An IC/BPS model of Sprague-Dawley (SD) rats was established with cyclophosphamide (CYP), and the SNS was extracted for treatment. The rats were divided into 4 groups (n = 10 in each group): Control group (blank), cyclophosphamide group (CYP group, CYP injection + normal saline gavage), lower-dose SNS group (LSNS group, CYP injection + 6 g/kg SNS gavage), and higher-dose SNS group (HSNS group, CYP injection + 12 g/kg SNS gavage).
