Purpose: To determine the impact of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) on visual functions, identify different modifiers as risk or protective factors, and find out how these factors affect patients' visual symptoms and visual functions as a whole.
Methods: We performed an online survey among 1030 participants (400 patients, 630 non-patients). Demographic features and severity of disease were documented, while visual functions were evaluated using National Eye Institute Visual Functioning questionnaire-25 (NEI VFQ-25).

Ovarian cancer is an important leading cause of cancer-related deaths among females, and a single biomarker does not have the sensitivity and specificity required for an effective ovarian cancer screening. Herein, we investigate a high-performance microfluidic detection platform to conduct a novel panel of multiple biomarkers for the early detection of ovarian carcinoma, which include CA125, HE4, OPN, MSLN, Hsp70, CA153, AFP, IL-6, and IL-8 using a microfluidic chip. High-throughput microfluidic chips and graphene oxide-assembled substrate are used to microprint repeatable capture antibody arrays and conduct multiple biomarkers in microscale volume samples.

It is well known that () is not the only indigenous bacterium in the stomach, as numerous studies have revealed that the gastric microbiota contributes to the pathogenesis of gastric disease. However, the correlation between the gastric bacterial flora and gastritis is unclear. By comparing differences in viable gastric bacteria between a gastritis group and a healthy group, we examined the potential species related to chronic gastritis.

Purpose: Heart failure (HF) is a multifactorial entity that combines derangements in both systolic and diastolic function. The relationship between systolic and diastolic function and exercise capacity is not fully understood. We sought to determine the mechanisms linking cardiac function and exercise tolerance in patients with HF.

Introduction And Hypothesis: Unified staging systems for pelvic organ prolapse (POP) have been established. We examined the application of the POP quantification (POP-Q) system in China by examining its use in scientific journal articles.
Methods: Relevant articles were identified by searching the Sinomed database using the terms: uterus prolapse, cystocele, proctocele, prolapse, and pelvic floor; limited to Chinese core journals in obstetrics and gynecology, from January 2004 to December 2014.
