Background: Development assistance for health (DAH) plays a vital role in supporting health programmes in low- and middle-income countries. While DAH has historically focused on infectious diseases and maternal and child health, there is a lack of comprehensive analysis of DAH trends, strategic shifts and their impact on health systems and outcomes. This study aims to provide a comprehensive review of DAH from 1990 to 2022, examining its evolution and funding allocation shifts.

To assess the influence of extreme temperature events on the mortality risk of nervous system diseases in residents of Jiangsu Province and identify patients with nervous system diseases who are susceptible to extreme temperature events. Acase-crossover design was used to investigate the cumulative lagged effects of extreme temperature events on the mortality risk of nervous system disease in local residents by using the data on causes of death from nervous system diseases in Jiangsu from 2014 to 2020 with conditional logistic regression model. The final definition of extreme temperature events was established using Akaike information criterion.

Importance: A negative association between neonatal mortality and hospital delivery has been found in some low- and lower-middle-income countries but not in rural settings characterized by poor quality of maternal and child health care.
Objective: To examine the association between neonatal mortality and hospital delivery in China across urban and rural regions, regional disparities, and varying levels of economic development.
Design, Setting, And Participants: This retrospective cohort study used county-level data from 2008 to 2020 from the National Maternal & Child Health Statistics across mainland China.

Background: Despite mounting evidence linking neurological diseases with climate change, the link between autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and global warming has yet to be explored.
Aims: To examine the relationship between the incidence of ASD and global warming from 1990 to 2019 and estimate the trajectory of ASD incidence from 2020 to 2100 globally.
Method: We extracted meteorological data from TerraClimate between 1990 and 2019.

Emerging evidence has indicated the linkage of traffic noise with cardiovascular diseases, However, there's a lack of extensive studies exploring the linkage of traffic noise with cardio-metabolic risk factors such as obesity. Additionally, the role of diet in the associations remains unknown. The aim is to prospectively examine the linkage of road traffic noise with obesity, especially by focusing on evaluating the impact of meat.

Objective: To evaluate the nutritional status of vitamin A (VitA) in breast milk and its influencing factors among lactating women in the Weihai, Yueyang, and Baotou of China.
Methods: From May to July 2014, 403 lactating mothers at (42±7) d postpartum were recruited from three Chinese cities, Weihai in Shandong Province, Yueyang in Hunan Province, and Baotou in Inner Mongolia. Basic information of lactating women and newborns and fish intake information of the lactating women in the last month were collected.

Objective: To delve into the intricate relationship between common genetic variations across the entire genome and the risk of non-syndromic cleft lip with or without cleft palate (NSCL/P).
Methods: Utilizing summary statistics data from genome-wide association studies (GWAS), a thorough investigation to evaluate the impact of common variations on the genome were undertook. This involved assessing single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) heritability across the entire genome, as well as within specific genomic regions.

Oil palm contributes to various global needs as one of the most productive oil crops, but there exist ongoing concerns regarding its yield reductions and associated environmental impacts resulting from land conversion. This is the first detailed report investigating the nonlinear threats to estate-level oil palm yields posed by El Niño Southern Oscillation (ENSO) in the equatorial Pacific Ocean, a major driver of climate variability. Using the Malaysian Palm Oil Board administrative records on monthly performances reported by oil palm estates through the e-submissions portal spanning from January 2015 to June 2023, we focused on elucidating the impacts of ENSO on fresh fruit bunch yield, oil extraction rate, and oil yield.

Background: Limited evidence exists regarding the association between ozone exposure and adverse sperm quality. We aimed to assess the association between ozone exposure and sperm quality, and identify susceptible exposure windows.
Methods: We recruited 32,541 men aged between 22 and 65 years old attending an infertility clinic in Wuhan, Hubei Province, China from 2014 to 2020.
The objective was to evaluate the efficacy of the combination of Glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonists (GLP-1 RAs), dipeptidyl peptidase-4 inhibitors (DPP-4i), and sodium-glucose cotransporter 2 inhibitor (SGLT-2i) in the treatment of Type 2 diabetes with poor efficacy of basic insulin and metformin/sulfonylurea by umbrella review. Forming the data of publication of each database through 13 September 2022, PubMed, EMBASE, and Cochrane Library were surveyed. A total of seven meta-analyses were included in the umbrella review.

The most up-to-date estimate of the global burden of disease indicates that ambient air pollution, including fine particulate matter and ozone, contributes to an estimated 5.2 million deaths each year. In this review, we highlight the challenges in estimating population exposure to air pollution and attributable health risks, particularly in low- and middle-income countries and among vulnerable populations.
