Objective: To explore the role of Ter cells in the development of the collagen-induced arthritis (CIA), we detected their quantity changes in the spleen of different stages of CIA mice and analyzed the correlation between Ter cells and the joint scores, and we also analyzed the correlation between Ter cells and the frequencies of T and B cell subsets, so as to further understand the pathogenesis of rheumatoid arthritis.
Methods: The six to eight weeks DBA/1 mice were used to prepare CIA model. After the second immunization, we began to evaluate the joint score.
Background Patients with symptomatic severe aortic stenosis and a history of chest radiation therapy represent a complex and challenging cohort. It is unknown how transcatheter aortic valve replacement ( TAVR ) compares with surgical aortic valve replacement in this group of patients, which was the objective of this study. Methods and Results We retrospectively reviewed all patients with severe aortic stenosis who underwent either TAVR or surgical aortic valve replacement at our institution with a history of mediastinal radiation (n=55 per group).

We described a new family, in which affected individuals exhibited pure hereditary spastic paraplegia with benign clinical course. Exome sequencing revealed a novel nonsense variant in the gene.

Objective: To investigate the expression level of serum matrix metalloproteinase 3 (MMP3) in early rheumatoid arthritis (ERA) patients with normal C-reaction protein (CRP) or erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR), and the significance in disease assessment.
Methods: In the study, 133 cases of early RA patients, 25 osteoarthritis (OA) patients and 60 healthy controls in Peking University People's Hospital from 2011 to 2015 were included. The RA patients were further divided into 4 groups according to levels of CRP and ESR: 88 patients with increased CRP and increased ESR, 15 patients with normal CRP and normal ESR, 17 patients with normal CRP but increased ESR, and 13 patients with increased CRP but normal ESR.
Mutations in the kinesin family member 5A () gene are mainly associated with autosomal dominant spastic paraplegia 10 (SPG10). The additional complicated symptoms of SPG10 commonly include a wide spectrum. However, cerebellar ataxia is only noticed in a very few patients.

The aim of this study was to explore the role of autophagy in response to blue light damage in aged mice and in human retinal pigmented epithelium (hRPE) cells. Blue light damage to the retina was induced in 10-month-old (10 mo) C57 mice and hRPE cells. Flash electroretinography was used to assess retinal function.

Objective: To investigate the feasibility and efficacy of sural nerve grafts for repairing sciatic nerve defects using a chitin biological absorbable tube bridge.
Methods: A sciatic nerve defect model in the rat was produced, and the sural nerve, cut from the ipsilateral leg, was used as a graft to repair the defect using chitin biological absorbable tube bridges. Then the number and morphology of regenerating myelinated fibers, nerve function index, nerve conduction velocity, and motor end plate and triceps surae muscle morphology were evaluated.

Polyether-ether-ketone (PEEK) has been used clinically for intervertebral fusion and internal fixators in spine and trauma surgery because of its mechanical properties and bioinertness. The present study aimed to assess the suitability of PEEK as an alternative material to cobalt-chromium-molybdenum alloy in total knee arthroplasty (TKA) and evaluate the wear property on the contact surface of the PEEK-on-highly cross-linked polyethylene (HXLPE). PEEK prosthesis was designed and manufactured using injection molding based on the computed tomography data of a standard goat right hind limb.

Objective: To describe the natural history of low-grade squamous intraepithelial lesion/cervical intraepithelial neoplasia grade I (LSIL/CIN1), and to analyze the predictive values of p16INK4a and Ki-67 for LSIL/CIN1 progression.
Methods: From January 2013 to January 2016, 264 patients were diagnosed with CIN1 by colposcopy-assisted biopsy and were followed up at 1-year intervals at Peking University People's Hospital. We measured expression levels of biomarkers p16INK4a and Ki67 to predict progression, persistence, or regression of the disease.

Biodegradable magnesium (Mg)-copper (Cu) coatings are promising in orthopedic implants to enhance osteogenesis. The present study aimed to compare the osteogenic effect of Mg-Cu coating and non-coating implants using a rabbit model. Mg/Mg-Cu coating of porous Ti6Al4V alloys was performed by the arc ion plating method.

Unlabelled: Noncoding RNA play important roles in various biological processes and diseases, including cancer. The expression profile of circular RNA (circRNA) has not been systematically investigated in lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD). In this study, we performed genomewide transcriptome profiling of coding genes, long noncoding RNA (lncRNA), and circRNA in paired LUAD and nontumor tissues by ribosomal RNA-depleted RNA sequencing.

In this study, we investigated the role of the pro-angiogenic factor leptin in regulating reactive oxygen species (ROS) to promote cell migration and angiogenesis in RA. We showed that leptin triggered RA fibroblast-like synoviocyte (FLS) migration by increased ROS expression.

The growth of B cell receptor (BCR) microclusters upon antigen stimulation drives B cell activation. Here, we show that PI3K-mediated PIP production is required for the growth of BCR microclusters. This growth is likely inhibited by PTEN and dependent on its plasma membrane binding and lipid phosphatase activities.

Anaplastic lymphoma kinase-positive large B-cell lymphoma (ALK+LBCL) is a rare non-Hodgkin lymphoma that exhibits a characteristic immunoblastic/plasmablastic morphology and is frequently expressing Clathrin-anaplastic lymphoma kinase fusion protein. Since being negative for T- and B- linage markers, this tumor is easy to be misdiagnosed, especially when it has unusual morphology and immunophenotype. Here, we report an ALK+LBCL with a diagnostic pitfall of carcinoma.

Objective: To investigate the effect of myeloid-derived suppressor cells (MDSC) on pro-liferation of B lymphocytes in rheumatoid arthritis (RA) patients.
Methods: The peripheral blood specimens were collected from 15 healthy adults and 38 RA patients who were divided into high disease activity group, medium activity group and low activity group according to their 28-joint disease activity score (DAS28). And the frequencies of MDSC were determined by flow cytometry.

Unlike conventional B cells, regulatory B cells exhibit immunosuppressive functions to downregulate inflammation via IL-10 production. However, the molecular mechanism regulating the production of IL-10 is not fully understood. In this study, we report the finding that activation-induced cytidine deaminase (AID) is highly upregulated in the IL-10-competent B cell (B10) cell from Innp5dAicda mice, whereas the 5' inositol phosphatase SHIP-1 is downregulated.
