Information on late complications in patients with acute leukemia who have undergone allogeneic hematopoietic cell transplantation (HCT) is limited. We performed a left-truncated analysis of long-term survival in patients with acute leukemia who were alive and disease-free 2 years after HCT. We included 2701 patients with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) and 9027 patients with acute myeloid leukemia (AML) who underwent HCT between 2005 and 2012.

Although surgical and interventional therapy has emerged as the primary treatment for patients with chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension (CTEPH), there remains a subset of patients who need medication therapy. This study aimed to evaluate the efficacy and safety outcomes of prostacyclin pathway vasodilators, providing further insight for clinical decision-making. A literature search was conducted in PubMed, Embase, and CENTRAL databases from inception to December 2023.

This increased susceptibility to CMV is a major contributor to the morbidity and mortality seen in patients following hematopoietic stem cell transplantation.
Methods: This study involved a retrospective analysis of 113 patients who underwent allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation for malignant hematological diseases.

Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is an inflammatory autoimmune disease triggered by antigenic peptides with environmental and genetic risk factors. It has been shown that antigen-specific targeting could be a promising therapeutical strategy for RA by restoring immune tolerance to self-antigens without compromising normal immunity. Citrullination of antigens enhances antigenic properties and induces autoimmune responses.

Precise diagnostic biomarkers of anticitrullination protein antibody (ACPA)-negative and early-stage RA are still to be improved. We aimed to screen autoantibodies in ACPA-negative patients and evaluated their diagnostic performance. The human genome-wide protein arrays (HuProt arrays) were used to define specific autoantibodies from the sera of 182 RA patients and 261 disease and healthy controls.

Objectives: Viruses have been considered as important participants in the development of rheumatoid arthritis (RA). However, the profile of enteric virome and its role in RA remains elusive. This study aimed to investigate the atlas and involvement of virome in RA pathogenesis.

Osteoclast-mediated bone erosion and deformation represent significant pathological features in rheumatoid arthritis (RA). Myeloid-derived suppressor cells (MDSCs) and B cells have emerged as key contributors to the progression of RA. Nevertheless, their involvement, especially the interaction in RA osteoclastogenesis remains elusive.

This study used Mendelian randomization (MR) to investigate the causal associations between 91 CIPs and cervical spondylosis (CS), prolapsed disc/slipped disc (PD/SD), spinal canal stenosis (SCS), and spondylolisthesis/spondylolysis.
Methods: Genetic variants data for CIPs and SDDs were obtained from the genome-wide association studies (GWAS) database.

Objectives: The routine biomarkers for rheumatoid arthritis (RA), including anticyclic citrullinated peptide antibody (anti-CCP), rheumatoid factor (RF), immunoglobulin M (IgM), erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR), and C-reaction protein (CRP) have limited sensitivity and specificity. Scavenger receptor-A (SR-A) is a novel RA biomarker identified by our group recently, especially for seronegative RA. Here, we performed a large-scale multicentre study to further assess the diagnostic value of SR-A in combination with other biomarkers for RA.

The immune system is an emerging regulator of hemostasis and thrombosis. The concept of immunothrombosis redefines the relationship between coagulation and immunomodulation, and the Gas6/Tyro3-Axl-MerTK (TAM) signaling pathway builds the bridge across them. During coagulation, Gas6/TAM signaling pathway not only activates platelets, but also promotes thrombosis through endothelial cells and vascular smooth muscle cells involved in inflammatory responses.

Three-dimensional (3D) echocardiography is an emerging technique for assessing right ventricular (RV) volume and function, but 3D-RV normal values from a large Chinese population are still lacking. The aim of the present study was to establish normal values of 3D-RV volume and function in healthy Chinese volunteers. A total of 1117 Han Chinese volunteers from 28 laboratories in 20 provinces of China were enrolled, and 3D-RV images of 747 volunteers with optimal image quality were ultimately analyzed by a core laboratory.

Objectives: B10 and B10pro cells suppress immune responses via secreting interleukin (IL)-10. However, their regulators and underlying mechanisms, especially in human autoimmune diseases, are elusive. This study aimed to address these questions in rheumatoid arthritis (RA), one of the most common highly disabling autoimmune diseases.

Background: Implementing training programs to educate patients on the prodromal symptoms of acute coronary syndrome (ACS) may assist patients in accurately recognizing these symptoms, and ultimately decrease their time delay in seeking emergency medical services (EMS). However, the effectiveness of this approach remains uncertain, particularly among the Chinese population.
Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted within 22 communities in Beijing, China between 2015 and 2018, with a total of 1099 participants recruited.
Objectives: Allergic rhinitis (AR) refers to a form of respiratory inflammation that mainly affects the sinonasal mucosa. The purpose of this study was to explore the level of immune cell infiltration and the pathogenesis of AR.
Methods: We performed a comprehensive analysis of two gene expression profiles (GSE50223 and GSE50101, a total of 30 patients with AR and 31 healthy controls).

Early diagnosis and treatment are of great significance for hindering the progression of brain disease. The limited effects of available treatments and poor prognosis are currently the most pressing problems faced by clinicians and their patients. Therefore, developing new diagnosis and treatment programs for brain diseases is urgently needed.

Purpose: To provide a foundation for clinical diagnosis, epidemiological investigation and intervention trials, we examined the reliability and validity of the American College of Rheumatology (ACR) 2011 and 2016 survey diagnostic criteria among Chinese patients based on the fibromyalgia severity (FS) scale.
Methods: In this study, 200 fibromyalgia patients diagnosed according to the 1990 criteria (1990c) were matched with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) patients based on age and gender. The FS scale score and its subscales were examined to determine their correlations with the revised fibromyalgia impact questionnaire (FIQR).

Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a chronic, systemic autoimmune disease characterized by autoantibody production, joint inflammation and bone destruction. Nearly 1/3 of RA patients with the active disease also exhibit a normal range of ESR and CRP. Here we assessed the performance and clinical significance of soluble CD24 (sCD24) as a biomarker of disease activity in RA.

Objective: Recently, a new subtype of granzyme B (GrB)-producing Breg cells has been identified, which was proven to be involved in autoimmune disease. Our recent report demonstrated that GrB-producing Breg cells were correlated with clinical and immunological features of SLE. However, the effect of GrB-producing Breg cells in lupus mice is unclear.
