Background: Few new psychiatric drugs have entered the market in recent decades; in contrast, the number of drugs carrying pharmacogenomic labels continues to increase. For the foreseeable future, the advancement of psychiatry and drug therapy may hinge on personalized treatment. Currently, antipsychotic or antidepressant choices rely heavily on the clinical experience of psychiatrists and potentially lengthy iterative trials.

Background: Displaced tibial tubercle (TT) fractures in adolescents are typically treated with open reduction and internal fixation. While metallic screw (MS) fixation provides strong stability, it often results in a high incidence of postoperative screw head protrusion or irritation, leading to additional removal surgery. Bioabsorbable screw (BS) fixation presents an alternative that may avoid these issues, though its stability has not yet been extensively documented in the literature.

Background: The role of lipid metabolic reprogramming in the development of various types of cancer has already been established. However, the exact biological function and significance of the elongation of very-long-chain fatty acids (ELOVLs) gene family, which can affect fatty acid metabolism, is still not well understood in lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD). The aim of our study is to explore whether there are genes related to the pathogenesis of LUAD in the ELOVLs family, and even to guide clinical medication and potential prognostic indicators.

Background: The genomic landscape of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) has been characterized extensively, but there remains a significant need for actionable targets and effective therapies.
Methods: Here, we perform integrative analysis of genome-wide loss of heterozygosity and expression to identify potential tumor suppressor genes. The functions and mechanisms of one of the candidates, TACC2, are then explored both in vitro and in vivo, leading to the proposal of a therapeutic strategy based on the concept of synthetic lethality.

Exosomes have emerged as a powerful biomarker for early cancer diagnosis, however, accurately detecting cancer-derived exosomes in biofluids remains a crucial challenge. In this study, we present a novel label-free electrochemical biosensor utilizing titanium dioxide nanotube array films (TiONTAs) for the sensitive detection of exosomes in complex biological samples. This innovative biosensor takes advantage of the excellent electrochemical properties of TiONTAs and their specific interactions with the phosphate groups of exosomes.

Photodynamic therapy (PDT) and photothermal therapy (PTT) have emerged as promising treatment options, showcasing immense potential in addressing both oncologic and nononcologic diseases. Single-component organic phototherapeutic agents (SCOPAs) offer advantages compared to inorganic or multicomponent nanomedicine, including better biosafety, lower toxicity, simpler synthesis, and enhanced reproducibility. Nonetheless, how to further improve the therapeutic effectiveness of SCOPAs remains a challenging research area.

The unfolded protein response (UPR) pathway is crucial for tumorigenesis, mainly by regulating cancer cell stress responses and survival. However, whether UPR factors facilitate cell-cell communication between cancer cells and immune cells to drive cancer progression remains unclear. We found that adenosine 3',5'-monophosphate response element-binding protein 3-like protein 2 (CREB3L2), a noncanonical UPR factor, is overexpressed and activated in triple-negative breast cancer, where its cleavage releases a C-terminal fragment that activates the Hedgehog pathway in neighboring CD8+ T cells.
