Researchers created mouse models to better detect pulmonary metastases using specific cell lines injected into the bloodstream.
They tested a radiolabeled compound, (99m)Tc-RRL, which showed significantly higher uptake in the lungs of mice with metastatic tumors compared to normal mice.
The study concluded that (99m)Tc-RRL is a promising tool for imaging pulmonary metastases, potentially enhancing detection methods alongside existing imaging approaches like (18)F-FDG.
