Clonal hematopoiesis of indeterminate potential (CHIP) and clonal cytopenias of undetermined significance (CCUS) are included in both fifth edition of the World Health Organization classification (WHO 2022) and International Consensus Classification (ICC). Recently three models were developed for prediction of myeloid neoplasms risk and clinical trials are initiated to investigate potential treatments for CHIP and CCUS. Challenges in diagnosis and therapeutic intervention of CHIP and CCUS were discussed.

Objective: We examined the effectiveness of integrating three-dimensional (3D) visualization reconstruction technology with Problem-Based Learning (PBL) in the clinical teaching of resident physicians focusing on pheochromocytoma.
Methods: Fifty resident physicians specializing in urology at Peking Union Medical College Hospital were randomly divided into two groups over the period spanning January 2022 to January 2024: an experimental group and a control group. The experimental group underwent instruction utilizing a pedagogical approach that integrated 3D visualization reconstruction technology with PBL, while the control group used a traditional teaching model.

Immune checkpoint inhibition (ICI) has become the mainstay of immunotherapy for the treatment of renal cell carcinoma (RCC). However, only a small portion of patients exhibit a positive response to PD-1/PD-L1 blockade therapy and the key reason is that RCC belongs to a vascular-rich tumor for promoting immunosuppression. Specifically, the dysfunctional tumor vasculature hinders effector T cell infiltration and induces immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment via the release of cytokine, which attenuates the therapeutic efficacy of ICI.

To investigate the effectiveness of ethiodized oil lymphangiography and TIPS creation in cirrhosis-related chylous ascites, ten patients were included between January 2019 and December 2023. After the failure of conservative treatment, patients received ethiodized oil lymphangiography to identify and embolize the chylous leakage first, and then the TIPS procedure was conducted. Symptoms of chylous leakage were not controlled after ethiodized oil lymphangiography, including patients' weight increase, abdominal circumference increase, and serum albumin level decrease.

Early life experience modulates resilience to stress in later life. Previous research implicated maternal care as a key mediator of behavioral responses to the adversity in adolescence, but details of molecular mechanisms remain elusive. Here, we show social stress activates transcription factor C/EBPβ in mPFC neurons of adolescent mice, which transcriptionally upregulates Dnm1l and promotes mitochondrial dysfunction, thereby conferring stress susceptibility in adolescent mice.

Efferocytosis is crucial for the clearance of apoptotic cells (ACs) following acute ischemic stroke (AIS), however, its mechanism remains unclear. This study reveals that chemokine-like factor 1 (CKLF1) disrupts efferocytosis by promoting AC finding and internalization while impairing AC degradation in microglia. CKLF1 deficiency reduced the proportion of ACs and lowered levels of damage-associated molecular patterns.

Diabetic liver injury (DLI) is a significant complication of diabetes mellitus, leading to severe liver dysfunction and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). Understanding the metabolic alterations and reprogramming in DLI is critical for identifying therapeutic targets. Despite the prevalence of DLI, its underlying metabolic mechanisms remain poorly understood, and effective treatments are lacking.

Purpose: Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) is a recognized cardiovascular risk factor, yet the benefits of intervention remain uncertain due to the heterogeneity among OSA patients. We aimed to explore the association of OSA with cardiovascular outcomes in acute coronary syndrome (ACS) patients with dual risk of elevated remnant cholesterol (RC) and low-grade inflammation indicated by high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP).
Methods: This study is a post-hoc analysis of OSA-ACS project enrolled 1833 ACS patients from January 2015 to December 2019, who underwent a sleep study, categorized into four groups by median levels of RC and hs-CRP: RC and low-grade inflammation risk (RCIR), low-grade inflammation risk (LDIR), RC risk (RCR), and no residual risk.

The skin, as the largest organ in the human body, serves as the primary physical barrier and plays a crucial role in the immune defense process. Immune-related skin diseases encompass a spectrum of complex dermatological conditions characterized by aberrant immune responses, including the production of autoantibodies and dysregulation of inflammatory mediators. Growing evidence suggest a heightened prevalence of comorbid neuropsychiatric disorders among patients with immune-related skin diseases, indicative of potential shared pathogenesis.

Although the triglyceride-glucose (TyG) index is associated with the risk of HF, this relationship may be affected by differences in nutritional status among individuals with varying levels of obesity. Waist circumference combined with the TyG index may be more accurately associated with HF.
