Objective: This study aims to establish the coronal configuration of the proximal femur as an independent factor for its mechanical properties and provide validation for the theoretical model "fulcrum-balance-reconstruction."
Methods: The digital 3D femur model constructed with the lower extremity high-resolution computed tomography of a senior subject was applied with the axial compression of 2100N under 5 different α angles of 10°, 5°, 0°, -5°, -10°. The equivalent stress distribution of the femoral geometric model under each angle were calculated.

The incidence of small (≤2 cm), non-functioning pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors (NF-pNETs) increased in the last decades. Before making appropriate strategy for patients with NF-pNETs ≤2 cm, pathological confirmation is vital. Incidentally diagnosed, sporadic small NF-pNETs may bring aggressive behavior and poor prognosis, such as extrapancreatic extension, lymph nodal metastasis, distant metastasis and recurrence, even causing disease-related death.

To cross-culturally adapt the Questionnaire of olfactory disorders (QOD) into a Chinese version, and then evaluate its reliability and validity for testing patients with olfactory dysfunction. A Chinese version of the QOD was evaluated for test-retest reliability, split-half reliability, and internal consistency. The validity analysis included components of content validity and criterion-related validity, as well as comparisons between The Medical Outcomes Study's36-Item ShortForm Health Survey(SF-36)questionnaire and the WHO Quality of Life-BREF (WHOQOL-BREF)questionnaire.

Objective: To investigate the effect of propofol on the expression of thrombospondin-1 (THBS-1) mRNA and protein in purified newborn rat cortical astrocytes in vitro.
Methods: Astrocytes were isolated from newborn rat cortex and grown in culture before exposure to propofol at 3, 10, 30, 100 or 300 µmol/L for 6 h, 12, or 24 h. The mRNA level of THBS-1 was detected by RT-PCR, and the protein level of THBS-1 was detected by immunofluorescence cytochemistry and Western blotting.

Objective: To evaluate the enhancement of endocardial border delineation and displaying of myocardial perfusion by the contrast agent SonoVue intravenously.
Methods: Under mode of fundamental imaging and nonlinear imaging respectively, 90 patients were injected with SonoVue and observed for improvement of endocardial border delineation by two dimension echo. In the meantime, displaying of myocardial perfusion by SonoVue was also investigated under mode of nonlinear imaging.

Background & Objective: Gap junctional intercellular communication (GJIC) is the main mechanism mediating the bystander effect in herpes simplex virus thymidine kinase (HSV-tk) gene therapy. All-trans retinoic acid (ATRA) may augment the therapeutic efficacy of HSV-tk gene therapy by both upregulating GJIC in glioma cells and inhibiting tumor growth. This study was designed to investigate the synergistic effect of ATRA and HSV-tk gene therapy in treatment of glioma.
