Role of auto-antibodies in the mechanisms of dengue pathogenesis and its progression: a comprehensive review.

A complex interaction among virulence factors, host-genes and host immune system is considered to be responsible for dengue virus (DENV) infection and disease progression. Generation of auto-antibodies during DENV infection is a major phenomenon that plays a role in the pathophysiology of dengue hemorrhagic fever and dengue shock syndrome. Hemostasis, thrombocytopenia, hepatic endothelial dysfunction, and autoimmune blistering skin disease (pemphigus) are different clinical manifestations of dengue pathogenesis; produced due to the molecular mimicry of DENV proteins with self-antigens like coagulation factors, platelets and endothelial cell proteins.

High costs of coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) impose a financial burden in patients often resulting in catastrophic health expenditure (CHE). Ventricular Septal Rupture and Artificial Intelligence (AI)-Assisted Healthcare.

This case report highlights the use of point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) for the diagnosis of ventricular septal rupture (VSR), a severe consequence of acute myocardial infarction (AMI). VSR has a broad spectrum of signs and inconspicuous symptoms, making the diagnosis difficult. POCUS offers non-invasive, real-time cardiac imaging and has an advantage over other methods due to its ability to identify VSR early.

Xanthogranuloma of the choroid plexus is a rare, usually incidentally detected and commonly bilateral intraventricular lesion found in the pediatric population. Its characteristic imaging features are described.

Aim: To develop an evidence-based expert group opinion on the role of insulin motivation to overcome insulin distress during different stages of insulin therapy and to propose a practitioner's toolkit for insulin motivation in the management of diabetes mellitus (DM).

Background: Insulin distress, an emotional response of the patient to the suggested use of insulin, acts as a major barrier to insulin therapy in the management of DM. Addressing patient-, physician- and drug-related factors is important to overcome insulin distress.

Interference of the Hope Hemoglobin With Hemoglobin A1c Results.

Hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c) is now considered to be the marker of choice in diagnosis and management of diabetes mellitus, based on the results of certain landmark clinical trials. Herein, we report the case of a 52-year-old ethnic Southeast Asian Indian man with impaired glucose tolerance whose glycated hemoglobin (ie, HbA1c) levels, as measured via Bio-Rad D10 high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and Roche Tina-quant immunoassay were 47.8% and 44.

Aggressive periodontitis: An appraisal of systemic effects on its etiology-genetic aspect.

Background: Myeloperoxidase (MPO) is a lysosomal enzyme found in the azurophilic granules of polymorphonuclear leukocytes and is able to mediate inflammatory tissue destruction in aggressive and chronic periodontitis (CP). Human telomerase is a multi subunit ribonucleoprotein enzyme concerned with telomeric lengthening and homeostasis in man and has been found to be elevated in inflammatory conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis and periodontitis. The aim of this study was to explore in aggressive periodontitis (AP) subjects: (i) The role of MPO-463G/A gene polymorphism and (ii) the level of telomerase expression.

Radiculopathy due to spontaneous facetal cyst hemorrhage.

Facetal cysts are usually encountered as incidental radiological findings in spinal imaging studies. Only rarely can neurological symptoms be attributed to them. These cysts are lined by vascularized synovial tissue.

Background: Hepatitis C virus is the major cause of chronic hepatitis worldwide which finally leads to the development of hepatocellular carcinoma. Toll like receptors (TLRs) play an important role in the course of many viral infections, but the role of TLRs in HCV pathogenesis has not been well elucidated so far.

Objective: The aim of this study was to analyse the mRNA expression of TLRs 3, 7, and 8 in different stages of HCV infection including chronic, cirrhosis, interferon treated resolved, and relapsed cases.
