Purpose: The primary purpose of this study was to develop and implement a novel Hemispheric Surgical Score to guide the treatment of pediatric patients with Moyamoya disease (MMD). Additionally, we aimed to describe a comprehensive flowchart for the evaluation, treatment, and follow-up of these patients and to share our experience with the interdisciplinary management of a large pediatric cohort at a referral pediatric hospital.

Objective: To present an attainable and realistic model for neuroendoscopic simulation which replicates exercises of tissue biopsy and coagulation and membrane fenestration.
Methods: We presented a stepwise method to create a neuroendoscopic simulation model using bovine brain and membrane units made by a soda cup covered by an amniotic membrane inside an expanded polystyrene spherical container. We used face validation for preliminary evaluation.

We present three patients with epilepsy of infancy with migrating focal seizures treated with the ketogenic diet. Between February 1, 2012 and January 31, 2014, three patients who met the diagnostic criteria for migrating focal seizures in infancy at our department were placed on the ketogenic diet and followed for a minimum of seven months. Two of the three children responded well to the ketogenic diet.

Introduction: The identification of molecules expressed selectively on the surface of retinoblastoma cells would allow applying targeted therapies. The Ganglioside, N-Glycolyl-GM3 (NeuGc-GM3), is an attractive candidate, as it has been detected in other paediatric neuroectodermic tumours, and it is not expressed in human normal tissues. The 14F7 antibody recognizes specifically the ganglioside NeuGc-GM3.

Method: Between February 1, 2007 and July 31, 2012, six patients who met the diagnostic criteria of EIMFS were treated with potassium bromide. Potassium bromide was added to other antiepileptic drugs (AEDs) in doses ranging from 30 to 80 mg/kg/day.

Immunotherapy targeting ganglioside antigens is a powerful tool for the treatment of high risk neuroblastoma. However, only treatment with anti-GD2 antibodies has been used in clinical practice and other options may be pursued. We report the use of racotumomab, an anti-idiotype vaccine against N-glycolyl neuraminic acid (NeuGc)- containing gangliosides, eliciting an immune response in a child with relapsed neuroblastoma expressing the NeuGcGM3 ganglioside.

Purpose: We studied the electroclinical features and evolution in patients with childhood absence epilepsy (CAE) associated with electroencephalographic findings similar to those of benign focal epilepsies (BFE) with or without clinical manifestations compatible with these focal idiopathic syndromes.
Methods: Between June 1994 and June 2002, we found 203 (3.6%) patients with typical electroclinical features of CAE among 8285 children with epilepsy.
