In this work, a signal amplification strategy was designed by the fabrication of a highly sensitive and selective electrochemical sensor based on nickel-copper-zinc ferrite (NiCuZnFeO)/carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC)/graphene oxide nanosheets (GONs) composite modified glassy carbon electrode (GCE) for determination of omeprazole (OMP). The one-step synthesized NiCuZnFeO/CMC/GONs nanocomposite was characterized by scanning electron microscopy, energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, transmission electron microscopy and X-ray diffraction techniques. Then, the NiCuZnFeO/CMC/GONs/GCE was applied to study the electrochemical behavior of the OMP.

The conversion of carbon dioxide (CO) into value-added organic compounds has received more and more attention over recent years, not only because this gas is one of the major anthropogenic greenhouse gases, but also because it has been regarded as an abundant, inexpensive, nontoxic, nonflammable, and renewable one-carbon (C1) resource. Along these lines, the synthesis of five-membered cyclic carbonates employing CO as a safe alternative to toxic reagents such as phosgene or its derivatives is of great interest because of their wide range of applications in organic synthesis. However, most of CO incorporation reactions into carbonates are carried out in toxic and non-recyclable organic solvents.

A compartmental Schiff base ligand, 2,2'-((((((2-hydroxypropane-1,3-diyl)bis(oxy))bis(2,1-phenylene))bis(methylene))bis(azanylylidene))bis(methanylylidene))bis(4-bromophenol) (HL) and its complexes with cobalt(ii), copper(ii) and zinc(ii) including, [Co(HL)] (1), [Cu(L)(μ-1,3-OAc)]·MeOH (2) and [Zn(HL)] (3) were prepared using template synthesis and characterised by elemental analysis, FT-IR and H NMR spectroscopies and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. In the structure of complexes 1 and 3 the metal atom has a MNO environment with tetrahedral geometry while complex 2 has a binuclear structure with a MNO environment and square planar geometry around the copper atom. The ability of all compounds to interact with the nine biomacromolecules (BRAF kinase, CatB, DNA gyrase, HDAC7, rHA, RNR, TrxR, TS and Top II) are investigated by docking calculations.

Also nanoparticles of 1-3 were prepared for anticancer studies by ultrasonic irradiation. Particle size and morphology of the nano particles are investigated by PXRD and SEM, respectively.

An SPE method for selective separation-preconcentration of Cu(ll), Zn(II), Ni(II), and Fe(III) on multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) modified by glutaric dihydrazide prior to flame atomic absorption spectrometric determination was investigated. The adsorption was achieved quantitatively on MWCNTs at pH 5.0, and then the retained metal ions on the adsorbent were eluted with 1 M HNO3.
