Background And Objectives: Prior studies have shown conflicting results on the impact of maternal anxiety on breastfeeding initiation and success. Furthermore, a substantial increase in maternal anxiety levels was shown in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. In this study, we aimed to investigate the relationship between maternal perinatal anxiety induced by the COVID-19 pandemic and early breastfeeding outcomes.

Introduction: The etiologies of diminished ovarian reserve (DOR) are still poorly understood, and many factors such as age, autoimmunity, genetics, idiopathicity, iatrogenesis, and oxidative stress (OS) play a role. Oxidative cellular damage increases following reactive oxygen species (ROS)-induced aging. This is the first study to evaluate the serum and follicular fluid (FF) thiol/disulfide homeostasis in patients under 35 years of age with DOR undergoing in vitro fertilization (IVF)/intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI).

Objective: Preeclampsia is a highly morbid disease of placental origin, life-threatening condition for both a pregnant woman and her fetus. Cadherin 6 and 11 are adhesion molecules that play an important role in trophoblastic development and placentation. In our study, we investigated the change in serum cadherin 6 and 11 levels in pregnant women with preeclampsia.

Background: To assess the impacts of prolonged protective face masks (PFM) wear on ocular surface symptoms among healthcare professionals (HCPs), and how these symptoms affected PFM wear.
Methods: Thirty-question survey forms were distributed via social media platform to 396 HCPs (110 doctors, 164 nurses, and 122 health technicians) between September 8 and 30, 2021. Participants who could not be reached via social media were given a face-to-face questionnaire.

The objective of this study was to assess the value of serum leptin, adiponectin, apelin, and ghrelin as biomarkers for the prediction and diagnosis of intra-hepatic cholestasis (ICP). This prospective study included pregnant women in the third trimester of pregnancy: 63 with ICP, 48 and 15 of whom had mild and severe disease, respectively, and 32 as controls. ICP women had increased median levels of serum leptin, adiponectin, apelin, and ghrelin compared to the controls ( < 0.

We investigated the question of how serum zonulin levels change in intrahepatic cholestasis of pregnancy (ICP) and gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) and, in the case of the coexistence of ICP and GDM, evaluated the eventual increase in zonulin plasmatic levels. Participants were enrolled for the study between 25 February 2021 and 20 August 2021. The prospective case-control study included: group 1 of 95 pregnant women diagnosed with ICP; group 2 of 110 pregnant women diagnosed with GDM; group 3 of 16 women diagnosed with both GDM and ICP; group 4 of 136 healthy pregnant women as the control group.

Background: In most countries, contrary to some disadvantages, such as pain, relatively higher cost, and poor adherence to treatment, intramuscular (IM) route is still the primary treatment method for Vitamin B12 (VB12) deficiency. In recent years, because of these difficulties, new treatment methods are being sought for VB12 deficiency.
Objectives: We aimed to compare sublingual (SL) and IM routes of VB12 administration in children with VB12 deficiency and to compare the efficacy of methylcobalamin and cyanocobalamin therapy in these children.

Purpose: To identify long-term changes in individual retinal layer thickness using automated retinal layer segmentation analysis on high-resolution spectral-domain optical coherence tomography (SD-OCT) scans of eyes with macula-off rhegmatogenous retinal detachment (RRD) treated with vitreoretinal surgery (VRS) and gas or silicone oil tamponade and having single-operation success.
Methods: A total of 58 patients operated on by VRS for RRD and followed up for 12 months were imaged by SD-OCT. The patients with retinal diseases such as an epiretinal membrane or cystic macular edema in the operated and fellow eyes were excluded.

Posterior scleritis in a child is a rare condition. High-resolution imaging techniques in the course of posterior scleritis have not been published extensively in literature. The authors reported a case of posterior scleritis in a 12-year-old child to demonstrate multimodal imaging techniques in the course of development and improvement of the disease.

Objectives: To evaluate the relationships between macular choroidal thickness (mCT) and ocular parameters, such as optic nerve head (ONH) and multifocal electroretinogram (mf-ERG) parameters, in cases with primary open-angle glaucoma (POAG).
Methods: This controlled and prospective clinical trial included 49 patients with POAG diagnosed for the fırst time and 47 healthy participants. Macular CTs, ONH and mf-ERG parameters were measured, and the examination findings were recorded at baseline and follow-ups.

To evaluate the correlation between visual outcomes and fluid configuration observed on spectral-domain optical coherence tomography (SD-OCT) in patients with wet age-related macular degeneration (AMD). Sixty-five eyes of 53 patients with AMD who were administered intravitreal ranibizumab treatment with 12 months of follow-up were included in this retrospective study. Presence of intraretinal cystoid fluid (IRC) and pigment epithelial detachment (PED), thickness of subretinal fluid (SRF), central macular thickness (CMT), and central macular volume (CMV) were assessed.

Surgery is the only treatment method in pancreatic cancer. Unfortunately, metastatic diseases or invasion of the main vascular structures are observed in a majority of cases at the time of diagnosis; these structures originate from the body, neck, and tail of the pancreas and are considered inoperable. The first celiac artery resection for the treatment of cancer was described by Appleby in 1953.

The presacral venous system is located under the pelvic fascia covering the anterior of the sacrum and consists of two lateral sacral veins, middle sacral vein, and the veins that communicate them. The presacral venous system can be easily damaged and causes serious bleeding which is difficult to control and may cause intraoperative mortality. Its incidence varies between 3% and 9.
