Psittaciformes kept as pets can serve as reservoirs of various microorganisms, many of which have zoonotic potential, including spp. In this study, the antifungal susceptibility profiles of 16 spp. isolated from the oral and cloacal cavities of 20 pet parrots were evaluated.

Use of Haloperidol in Companion Psittacine Birds: 19 Cases (2012-2022).

The antipsychotic medication haloperidol has been used for many years in avian medicine as a pharmacologic therapy for refractory feather destructive behavior in pet parrots. However, despite its common use, there are no published studies evaluating its efficacy and adverse effects in psittacine birds. This report lays out good practices and practical recommendations for developing or updating HTA guidelines to ensure successful implementation.

Methods: The task force was established in 2022 and comprised experts and academics from various geographical regions, each with substantial experience in developing HTA guidelines for national health policymaking.

Methods: The search was carried out in August 2023, using descriptors and keywords, in the Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature, Latin American and Caribbean Literature in Health Sciences, Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials, Excerpta Medica Database, PUBMED, Scopus, Virtual Health Library, Google Scholar, CAPES, BDTD, and ProQuest portals of theses and dissertations, with no language restrictions or time limit.

Purpose: This study conducted an analysis of medical malpractice litigation associated with anesthesia from 2013 to 2022, aiming to evaluate incidents of anesthesia-related safety concerns among surgical patients. Decreasing Postanesthesia Care Unit Length of Stay for Carpal Tunnel Release Patients: A Quality Improvement Initiative.

Purpose: The purpose of the project was to reduce the occurrence of nonclinical delays resulting in increased postanesthesia care unit length of stay for carpal tunnel release patients in an ambulatory orthopedic surgery center through the implementation of new workflow processes in both the preoperative and postoperative phases of care.

Design: Pre-post design, with data being analyzed both before and after implementation of evidence-based quality improvement measures to assess for effectiveness of project interventions.
