Side bending radiographs and lowest instrumented vertebra in adolescent idiopathic scoliosis: A French quality-of-care study.

Background: Determining which spinal levels to instrument during surgical treatment of Lenke Type 1 adolescent idiopathic scoliosis (AIS) depends on the reducibility of the primary and secondary curve patterns. This reducibility can be evaluated in several ways, with the most popular being radiographs in bending for moderate thoracic and lumbar curvatures. Hypothesis Side-bending radiographs will alter the choice of the lowest instrumented vertebra (LIV) for the surgical treatment of AIS.

The purpose of this article is to provide an overview of prevalence, pathophysiological and currently available treatment of NP in rheumatic diseases. Pregnancy and Delivery in Women with Lower Urinary Tract Reconstruction: A National Multicenter Retrospective Study from the French-Speaking Neuro-Urology Study Group (GENULF) and the Neuro-Urology Committee of the French Association of Urology.

Purpose: Management of pregnancy and delivery in women with lower urinary tract reconstruction is challenging and the currently available literature is insufficient to guide clinical practice. We report pregnancy and delivery outcomes in this specific population.

Materials And Methods: We conducted a national multicenter retrospective study (16 centers) including 68 women with 96 deliveries between 1998 and 2019.

Atlas of the OMERACT Heel Enthesitis MRI Scoring System (HEMRIS).

Objective: Assessment of enthesitis, a key feature in spondyloarthritis (SpA) and psoriatic arthritis (PsA), using objective and sensitive methods is pivotal in clinical trials. MRI allows detection of both soft tissue and intra-osseous changes of enthesitis. This article presents an atlas for the Outcome Measures in Rheumatology (OMERACT) Heel Enthesitis Magnetic Resonance ImagingMRI Scoring System (HEMRIS).

Guidelines on use of interventions to enhance healing of chronic foot ulcers in diabetes (IWGDF 2019 update).

The International Working Group on the Diabetic Foot (IWGDF) has published evidence-based guidelines on the prevention and management of diabetic foot disease since 1999. In conjunction with advice from internal and external reviewers and expert consultants in the field, this update is based on a systematic review of the literature centred on the following: the Population (P), Intervention (I), Comparator (C) and Outcomes (O) framework; the use of the SIGN guideline/Cochrane review system; and the 21 point scoring system advocated by IWGDF/EWMA. This has resulted in 13 recommendations.

Effectiveness of interventions to enhance healing of chronic foot ulcers in diabetes: a systematic review.

The management of diabetic foot ulcers (DFU) remains a challenge, and there is continuing uncertainty concerning optimal approaches to wound healing. The International Working Group of the Diabetic Foot (IWGDF) working group on wound healing has previously published systematic reviews of the evidence in 2008, 2012 and 2016 to inform protocols for routine care and to highlight areas which should be considered for further study. The working group has now updated this review by considering papers on the interventions to improve the healing of DFU's published between June 2014 and August 2018.

Rib Cage Measurement Reproducibility Using Biplanar Stereoradiographic 3D Reconstructions in Adolescent Idiopathic Scoliosis.

Background: A reproducibility study of preoperative rib cage three-dimensional (3D) measurements was conducted for patients with Adolescent Idiopathic Scoliosis (AIS). No prior reliability study has been performed for preoperative 3D reconstructions of the rib cage by using stereoradiography in patients with preoperative AIS. Our objective was to assess the reliability of rib cage 3D reconstructions using biplanar stereoradiography in patients with AIS before surgery.

A high prevalence of arterial hypertension in patients with mitochondrial diseases.

The prevalence of arterial hypertension in mitochondrial diseases remains unknown. Between January 2000 and May 2014, we retrospectively included patients with genetically proven mitochondrial diseases. We recorded clinical, genetic and cardiac exploration data, including the measure of arterial pressure.

Complication rate after cystectomy following pelvic radiotherapy: an international, multicenter, retrospective series of 682 cases.

Purpose: Conflicting evidence exists on the complication rates after cystectomy following previous radiation (pRTC) with only a few available series. We aim to assess the complication rate of pRTC for abdominal-pelvic malignancies.

Methods: Patients treated with radical cystectomy following any previous history of RT and with available information on complications for a minimum of 1 year were included.

Methodological management of end-of-life decision data in intensive care studies: A systematic review of 178 randomized control trials published in seven major journals.

Background: End-of-life (EOL) decisions are a serious ethical dilemma and are frequently carried out in intensive care units (ICUs). The aim of this systematic review was to investigated the different approaches used in ICUs and reported in randomized controlled trials (RCTs) to address EOL decisions and compare the impact of these different strategies regarding potential bias and mortality estimates.

Methods: We identified relevant RCTs published in the past 15 years via PubMed, EMBASE, and CINAHL.

Head to pelvis alignment of adolescent idiopathic scoliosis patients both in and out of brace.

Purpose: To determine the short-term effect of bracing of adolescent idiopathic scoliotic (AIS) patients on the relationships between spinopelvic parameters related to balance, by comparing their in and out-of-brace geometry and versus healthy subjects.

Methods: Forty-two AIS patients (Cobb angle 29° ± 12°, ranging from 16° to 61°) with a prescription of orthotic treatment were included retrospectively and prospectively. They all underwent biplanar radiography and 3D reconstruction of the spine and pelvis before bracing as well as less than 9 months after bracing.

Video clip assessment of a salivary gland ultrasound scoring system in Sjögren's syndrome using consensual definitions: an OMERACT ultrasound working group reliability exercise.

Objective: To develop ultrasound (US) definitions and a US novel scoring system for major salivary gland (SG) lesions in patients with primary Sjögren's syndrome (pSS) and to test their intrareader and inter-reader reliability using US video clips.

Methods: Twenty-five rheumatologists were subjected to a three-round, web-based Delphi process in order to agree on (1) definitions and scanning procedure of salivary gland ultrasonography (SGUS): parotid, submandibular and sublingual glands (PG, SMG and SLG); (2) definitions for the elementary SGUS lesions in patients with Sjögren's syndrome; (3) scoring system for grading changes. The experts rated the statements on a 1-5 Likert scale.

Biplanar stereoradiography predicts pulmonary function tests in adolescent idiopathic scoliosis: a cross-sectional study.

Purpose: Various spinal and rib cage parameters measured from complex examinations were found to be correlated with preoperative pulmonary function tests (PFT). The aim was to investigate the relationship between preoperative rib cage parameters and PFT using biplanar stereoradiography in patients with severe adolescent idiopathic scoliosis.

Methods: Fifty-four patients, 45 girls and nine boys, aged 13.

The OMERACT MRI in Enthesitis Initiative: Definitions of Key Pathologies, Suggested MRI Sequences, and a Novel Heel Enthesitis Scoring System.

Objective: To develop and validate an enthesitis magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scoring system for spondyloarthritis/psoriatic arthritis, using the heel as model.

Methods: Consensus definitions of key pathologies and 3 heel enthesitis multireader scoring exercises were done, separated by discussion, training, and calibration.

Results: Definitions for bone and soft tissue pathologies were agreed.

RanBP2 regulates the anti-retroviral activity of TRIM5α by SUMOylation at a predicted phosphorylated SUMOylation motif.

TRIM5α is a cytoplasmic restriction factor that blocks post-entry retroviral infection. Evidence suggests that its antiviral activity can be regulated by SUMO, but how this is achieved remains unknown. Here, we show that TRIM5α forms a complex with RanGAP1, Ubc9, and RanBP2 at the nuclear pore, and that RanBP2 E3 SUMO ligase promotes the SUMOylation of endogenous TRIM5α in the cytoplasm.

Pregnancy outcome after first trimester exposure to ionizing radiations.

Objective: To evaluate the effects of ionizing radiation exposure during the first trimester of pregnancy in usual clinical situations.

Study Design: We conducted a prospective observational cohort study using data collected between 1987 and 2014. This database was authorized by the French "Commission Nationale de l'Informatique et des Libertés".

Dysexecutive disorders and their diagnosis: A position paper.

Although executive function disorders are among the most prevalent cognitive impairments a consensus on diagnostic criteria has yet to be reached. With a view to harmonizing these criteria, the present position paper (i) focuses on the main dysexecutive disorders, (ii) examines recent approaches in both the behavioral and cognitive domains, (iii) defines diagnostic boundaries for frontal syndrome, (iv) reports on the frequency and profile of the executive function disorders observed in the main brain diseases, and (v) proposes an operationalization of diagnostic criteria. Future work must define the executive processes involved in human adaptive behavior, characterize their impairment in brain diseases, and improve the management of these conditions (including remediation strategies and rehabilitation).

Thrombotic microangiopathy associated with gemcitabine use: Presentation and outcome in a national French retrospective cohort.

Aims: Gemcitabine has been associated with thrombotic microangiopathy (TMA). We conducted a national retrospective study of gemcitabine-associated TMA (G-TMA).

Methods: From 1998 to 2015, all cases of G-TMA reported to the French Pharmacovigilance Network and the French TMA Reference Center, and cases explored for complement alternative pathway abnormalities, were analysed.
