Introduction: Rapid climate changes in the early 21st century have triggered a global syndemic intertwining obesity, undernutrition and climate change, profoundly affecting health, especially children. Despite increasing research, a significant gap persists in understanding the mechanisms linking climate change to child malnutrition, particularly in children under 5 years old. This protocol proposes a scoping review to address this gap, with the aim of mapping the available evidence on the relationship between climate change and malnutrition among children under 5 years old.

Racial and ethnic minorities have been disproportionally burdened by hospitalization and death due to COVID-19. Participation of individuals of diverse races and ethnicities in clinical trials according to study-level characteristics of randomized controlled trials (RCT) that test effectiveness of COVID-19 drugs could be insightful for future researchers. The objective of this scoping review was to describe frequency of race and ethnicity reported as demographic variables and specific reporting of race and ethnicity according to COVID-19 RCT characteristics.

Although the terms "rare diseases" (RD) and "orphan diseases" (OD) are often used interchangeably, specific nuances in definitions should be noted to avoid misconception. RD are characterized by a low prevalence within the population, whereas OD are those inadequately recognized or even neglected by the medical community and drug companies. Despite their rarity, as our ability on discovering novel clinical phenotypes and improving diagnostic tools expand, RD will continue posing a real challenge for rheumatologists.

Introduction: Cleft lip and/or palate (CL+/-P) is a congenital malformation affecting the lip and palate, requiring long-term treatment due to potential associated complications. For this reason, it is important for the patient to be continuously monitored and followed for health promotion and prevention, as well as improving the quality of life. The aim of this scoping review protocol is to identify and map the available evidence regarding the application of digital resources and technologies in the monitoring and follow-up of patients with CL+/-P.

Tooth loss due to fracture and the failure of endodontic treatment (ET) are common situations in teeth with extensive tissue destruction. This is due to the fragility of the remaining dental structure and the difficulty in sealing cavities, which is sometimes associated with the violation of the supracrestal insertion tissue. The previous restoration of marginal ridges or cusps with composite resin (CR) restores their fracture resistance, due to the adhesive characteristics of the restorative material, while also protecting the quality of endodontic treatment through better sealing.

Metformin is one of the most commonly used drugs in the world for the treatment of type 2 diabetes, while ferulic acid is a molecule that stands out for its antioxidant potential. Recent studies demonstrate hypoglycemic synergy between these molecules. The objective of this study is to develop and validate an analytical methodology by high-performance liquid chromatography for the simultaneous quantification of these drugs in pharmaceutical formulations.

Objective: To determine which Thyroglobulin (Tg) level after levothyroxine (LT) withdrawal (stimulated thyroglobulin - sTg) measured before radioiodine therapy (RAIT) is able to predict incomplete response to treatment of differentiated thyroid carcinoma (DTC) with greater sensitivity and specificity one year after initial treatment with I.
Methods: A chart review was performed in which 375 patients with DTC treated with RAIT were included. The sTg was measured in all patients prior to treatment with I.

The coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic exposed weaknesses in multiple domains and widened gender-based inequalities across the world. It also stimulated extraordinary scientific achievement by bringing vaccines to the public in less than a year. In this article, we discuss the implications of current vaccination guidance for pregnant and lactating women, if their exclusion from the first wave of vaccine trials was justified, and if a change in the current vaccine development pathway is necessary.

Introduction: In terms of treatment results, the readiness stage presents the best conditions for adherence to a therapeutic proposal, and it allows for an estimated disease prognosis and assistance with treatment monitoring. Patients with dysphonia who are treated using vocal rehabilitation (basically a behavioral program), regardless of disease etiology, can optimize their treatment by understanding the stages of behavioral change.
Objectives: To evaluate the accuracy of the components constituting the stages of readiness to change on the University of Rhode Island Change Assessment-Voice (URICA-V) scale using confirmatory factor analysis and internal consistency indices.

Our aim was to quantify microplastic ingestion by fish assemblages in two tropical Brazilian estuaries and to evaluate whether biological and ecological factors influence the ingestion of microplastics by fish species. Of 2233 fish from both estuaries (from 69 species) examined in this study, 9% of the individuals (24 species) had microplastics in their gut contents. Microplastic ingestion occurred irrespective of fish size and functional group.
