Amid an era of rapid globalization and technological advancement, translation technologies stand as valuable assets for college students to enhance accuracy and efficiency in the translation process. However, the adoption and acceptance of these technologies are contingent on several psychological factors, which are underexplored in the academic field. This study, populated by a cohort of 397 college students, employs a multiple-item questionnaire measuring computer self-efficacy, learning motivation, cognitive engagement, and the behavioral intention to utilize translation technologies.

The magnetization mechanism of Co-doped BaTiO ultrathin films is a subject of debate, which results in difficulties with the design of new multiferroics based on BaTiO matrixes. With the aid of a first-principles approach, it was observed that when the interstitial site and Ti vacancy were filled with Co, the configuration behaved in a nonmagnetic manner, indicating the significance of the Co content. Moreover, in the case of Co substituting two neighboring Ti atoms, when a direct current field was applied in the [100] direction, the magnetic domains excluding those in the [100], [010], and [001] directions were directed away.

Background: The causal genetic relationship between common parenteral manifestations of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and urolithiasis remains unclear because their timing is difficult to determine. This study investigated the causal genetic association between IBD and urolithiasis using Mendelian randomization (MR) based on data from large population-based genome-wide association studies (GWASs).
Methods: A two-sample MR analysis was performed to assess the potential relationship between IBD and urolithiasis.

Intratumor heterogeneity (ITH) of bladder cancer (BLCA) contributes to therapy resistance and immune evasion affecting clinical prognosis. The molecular and cellular mechanisms contributing to BLCA ITH generation remain elusive. It is found that a TM4SF1-positive cancer subpopulation (TPCS) can generate ITH in BLCA, evidenced by integrative single cell atlas analysis.

Due to the spontaneous transport of small-sized cations and redox reactions under open circuit conditions, the currently reported coloring electrochromic devices (ECDs) may self-bleach easily. The resulting ECDs exhibit poor open-circuit memory, which limits their applications in static display advertisement. By constructing energy barriers to effectively control small-sized cation transport, the redox reaction could be suppressed, thereby inhibiting the self-bleaching of ECDs.

Bougainvillea is a popular ornamental plant. Although Bougainvillea is abundant in germplasm resources, cultivars and flower colors, there is no rare blue colour varieties, due to the absence of delphinidin-based anthocyanins. This study analyzed the Bougainvillea leaf and bract transcriptome to select hosts of genetic transformation that would be suitable for the accumulation of delphinidin.

The significant threat posed by the high toxicity of heavy metals and antibiotics in water pollutants has prompted a growing emphasis on the development of highly efficient removal methods for these pollutants. In this paper, flexible electrospinning polyacrylonitrile (PAN) nanofiber-supported CdBiS was synthesized via a hydrothermal method, followed by amination treatment with diethylenetriamine (DETA). The as-prepared CdBiS/NH-PAN nanofiber, enriched with sulfur vacancies, demonstrated outstanding visible-light trapping ability and a suitable band gap, leading to efficient separation and transport of photogenerated carriers, ultimately resulting in exceptional photocatalytic capability.

Background: Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a common respiratory disease and the third leading cause of death worldwide. Previous evidence has shown that acupuncture may be an effective complementary alternative therapy for stable COPD. However, large-sample, rigorously designed long-term follow-up studies still need to be completed.

Comprehensive utilization of two industrial wastes by leaching pyrite cinder with titanium dioxide waste acid was proposed by using response surface methodology of the Box-Behnken design method. The effects of leaching conditions such as leaching temperature, leaching time, and waste acid/pyrite cinder ratio on the leaching yield were examined. The prediction model including the leaching variables with a good fitting result was established to predict the leaching yield or optimize the leaching variable values.

The production process of the metallurgical industry generates a significant quantity of hazardous waste. At present, the common disposal method for metallurgical hazardous waste is landfilling, which synchronously leads to the leaching of toxic elements and the loss of valuable metals. This paper presents a comprehensive review of the research progress in the harmless treatment and resource utilization of stainless steel dust/sludge (including stainless steel dust and stainless steel pickling sludge) and aluminum ash (including primary aluminum ash and secondary aluminum dross), which serve as representative hazardous wastes in ferrous metallurgy and nonferrous metallurgy, respectively.

When it comes to the environmental costs, environmental economists have tried to study the effects of the foreign direct investment-growth nexus, but they have ignored the crucial role that financial development and technical innovation play. Massive increases in energy consumption have contributed to environmental degradation in the BRICS nations, which have experienced rapid IND due to their robust economies. This study uses data from 1990 to 2021 to examine the relationship between carbon emissions in BRICS member nations and factors such as FDI, technological innovation, and economic growth.

Patients with late-stage mild cognitive impairment (LMCI) have a higher risk of progression to Alzheimer's disease (AD) than those with early-stage mild cognitive impairment (EMCI). However, previous studies have often pooled EMCI and LMCI patients into a single MCI group, with limited independent investigation into the pathogenesis of LMCI. In this study, we employed whole-genome methylation association analysis to determine the differences in peripheral blood methylation profiles between 663 cognitive aging (CN) and 554 LMCI patients.

Background: Phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase (PI3K) inhibitors belong to the class of drugs that inhibit the activity of the PI3K protein, which is commonly overexpressed in breast cancer cells. However, there is a need to summarize the evidence to provide conclusive advice on the benefit of PI3K inhibitors in breast cancer patients. Therefore, this review assessed the effectiveness and safety of the PI3K inhibitors amongst breast cancer patients.
