Background: This case report emphasizes the potential pulmonary toxicity of demulsifier gas, which is a widely used chemical. To our knowledge, this is the first documented instance of acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) induced by inhalation of demulsifier gas. This report underscores the need for increased workplace safety and awareness regarding health risks associated with demulsifiers, particularly in industrial settings.

Comparing the prognosis of esophageal adenocarcinoma with bone and liver metastases: A competing risk analysis.

Background: About half of the patients with esophageal cancer are presenting with metastasis at initial diagnosis. However, few studies have concerned on the prognostic factors of metastatic esophageal adenocarcinoma (mEAC). Comparison of the accuracy of hematological parameters in the diagnosis of neonatal sepsis: a network meta-analysis.

Background: Currently, there are hundreds of hematological parameters used for rapid diagnosis of neonatal sepsis, but there is no network meta-analysis to compare the diagnostic efficacy of these parameters.

Methods: We searched for literature on the diagnostic neonatal sepsis and selected 20 of the most common parameters to compare their diagnostic efficacy. We used Bayesian network meta-analysis, Frequentist network meta-analysis, and individual traditional diagnostic meta-analysis to analyze the data and verify the stability of the results.

Feasibility analysis of China's medical insurance coverage of assisted reproductive technology.

There are millions of patients experiencing infertility in China, but assisted reproductive technology (ART) is performed at the patient's expense and is difficult to afford. With the sharp decline in China's birth rate, there is a growing controversy over the inclusion of ART in medical insurance (MI). This study aims to explore the feasibility of ART coverage by MI for the first time.

Transforming growth factor-β1 gene polymorphisms with liver cirrhosis risk: A meta-analysis.

Although several epidemiological studies have investigated the association of transforming growth factor-β1 (TGF-ß1) gene polymorphisms with the susceptibility to liver cirrhosis (LC), controversial results exist. Consequently, we performed a meta-analysis to accurately evaluate the relationship of TGF-ß1-509C/T and codon 10T/C polymorphisms with the risk of LC introduced by chronic hepatitis B/V virus (HBV/HCV) infection. A total of 9 case-control studies, involving 985 LC patients and 909 controls, were recruited for meta-analysis.
