Background: This case report emphasizes the potential pulmonary toxicity of demulsifier gas, which is a widely used chemical. To our knowledge, this is the first documented instance of acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) induced by inhalation of demulsifier gas. This report underscores the need for increased workplace safety and awareness regarding health risks associated with demulsifiers, particularly in industrial settings.

However, few studies have concerned on the prognostic factors of metastatic esophageal adenocarcinoma (mEAC). This research aimed to investigate the effects of single bone metastasis (BM) and single liver metastasis (LM) on prognosis of mEAC patients.

Background: Currently, there are hundreds of hematological parameters used for rapid diagnosis of neonatal sepsis, but there is no network meta-analysis to compare the diagnostic efficacy of these parameters.
Methods: We searched for literature on the diagnostic neonatal sepsis and selected 20 of the most common parameters to compare their diagnostic efficacy. We used Bayesian network meta-analysis, Frequentist network meta-analysis, and individual traditional diagnostic meta-analysis to analyze the data and verify the stability of the results.

There are millions of patients experiencing infertility in China, but assisted reproductive technology (ART) is performed at the patient's expense and is difficult to afford. With the sharp decline in China's birth rate, there is a growing controversy over the inclusion of ART in medical insurance (MI). This study aims to explore the feasibility of ART coverage by MI for the first time.

Although several epidemiological studies have investigated the association of transforming growth factor-β1 (TGF-ß1) gene polymorphisms with the susceptibility to liver cirrhosis (LC), controversial results exist. Consequently, we performed a meta-analysis to accurately evaluate the relationship of TGF-ß1-509C/T and codon 10T/C polymorphisms with the risk of LC introduced by chronic hepatitis B/V virus (HBV/HCV) infection. A total of 9 case-control studies, involving 985 LC patients and 909 controls, were recruited for meta-analysis.

There are accurate but inconclusive data on the association of interleukin (IL) 10 polymorphisms with sustained virological response (SVR) in chronic hepatitis C (CHC). This meta-analysis aimed to derive a more precise estimation of the effects of IL10 gene polymorphisms (-1082G/A, -819C/T, -592C/A) and their haplotypes on SVR in CHC patients receiving pegylated interferon alpha (PEG-IFN-a) plus ribavirin. Literature search was conducted up to Jan.

Background: Previous studies about the association of the interleukin-10 (IL-10) polymorphisms with the progression of liver fibrosis or cirrhosis susceptibility in chronic hepatitis B/C (CHB/C) disease were inconsistent. The aim of this meta-analysis was to derive a more precise estimation of the association.
Methods: We searched Medline, PubMed, EMBASE and Web of Science electronic databases using the following key words: liver fibrosis/cirrhosis, IL10, and polymorphism.
