A Case of NTRK Fusion Corpus Sarcoma With Pseudobiphasic Growth Pattern and Literature Review.

The incidence of neurotrophic tyrosine kinase receptor (NTRK) fusion uterine sarcoma is extremely low, and reports have been mostly focused on cases localized to the cervix. So far, only 4 cases have been reported of the uterine corpus. In this study, we reported a case of NTRK fusion corpus sarcoma.

Background: Cognitive impairment is a common and feared characteristic of aging processes, and one key mechanism of cognition is hippocampal synaptic structure. Previous studies have reported that gut microbiota dysbiosis occurred in neurodegenerative diseases and other brain disorders with cognitive impairment. However, it is not clear how gender differences affect cognitive impairment in aging processes and whether they affect synaptic structure and gut microbiota.

Combined pyrotinib and fulvestrant for hormone receptor-positive and HER2-positive metastatic breast cancer: A multicenter, single-arm, phase II trial.

This multicenter, single-arm, phase II clinical trial (NCT04034589) evaluated the efficacy and safety of pyrotinib combined with fulvestrant in patients with HR-positive/HER2-positive metastatic breast cancer who had experienced trastuzumab treatment failure. A total of 46 patients were enrolled, receiving pyrotinib orally once daily and fulvestrant intramuscularly on days 1 and 15 of cycle 1, followed by monthly doses on day 1. The primary endpoint was progression-free survival (PFS), while secondary endpoints included overall survival (OS), objective response rate (ORR), disease control rate (DCR), and safety.

Advances in chimeric antigen receptor T cell therapy for autoimmune and autoinflammatory diseases and their complications.

Chimeric antigen receptor T (CAR-T) cells are genetically engineered T cells expressing transmembrane chimeric antigen receptors with specific targeting abilities. As an emerging immunotherapy, the use of CAR-T cells has made significant breakthroughs in cancer treatment, particularly for hematological malignancies. The success of CAR-T cell therapy in blood cancers highlights its potential for other conditions in which the clearance of pathological cells is therapeutic, such as liver diseases, infectious diseases, heart failure, and diabetes.

Deoxynivalenol (DON) is a type of mycotoxin commonly found in food and animal feed. When consumed, it can have harmful effects on the intestine. The porcine digestive system is physiologically similar to that of humans, making pigs a suitable model for studying DON-induced enterotoxicity.

Quantitative evaluation of microenvironmental changes and efficacy of cupping therapy under different pressures based on photoacoustic imaging.

Cupping therapy, a traditional Chinese medicinal practice, has been subjected to scientific scrutiny to validate its effects on local tissue microenvironments. This study provides a quantitative assessment of cupping therapy at different negative pressures using photoacoustic imaging. Low-pressure cupping (-20 kPa) significantly improved local blood circulation, evidenced by increased hemoglobin oxygen saturation and vessel dilation that normalized within two hours.

Risk factors for mortality in patients with sepsis on extracorporeal membrane oxygenation and/or continuous renal replacement therapy: a retrospective cohort study based on MIMIC-IV database.

Objective: This study aimed to identify risk factors for mortality in septic patients undergoing extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) and/or continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT).

Methods: Data from the MIMIC-IV database were retrospectively reviewed for 24,502 septic patients treated with ECMO or CRRT between 2008 and 2019. After applying inclusion and exclusion criteria, 70 patients receiving ECMO, 513 receiving CRRT, and 22 receiving both were included in the final analysis.

Clinicopathological Features of Epstein-Barr Virus-Positive Neuroendocrine Carcinoma: Analysis of Twenty-Two Cases.

Epstein-Barr Virus (EBV)-positive neuroendocrine carcinoma (NEC) is a rare neoplasm with limited histopathological and therapeutic data. This report presents 22 cases of EBV-positive NEC, analyzing age distribution, morphology, and immunophenotype. The median patient age was 47 years (range: 27-67 years), with a male-to-female ratio of 17:5.

Background: Colon inflammation plays an essential role in the development and progression of colorectal cancer. Emerging evidence from clinical and animal studies indicates that metformin may reduce the risk of colorectal cancer through its anti-inflammatory effects.

Objective: It's a comparative study between bicycle and treadmill groups to observe the effects of high-intensity interval exercise training on knee health and articular cartilage volume in patients with obesity, thus to provide a scientific basis for the healthy exercise methods to lose weight.

Methods: 60 patients with simple obesity were randomly divided into two groups of 30: the bicycle group and the treadmill group. Both groups received high-intensity interval exercise training, power bicycle training and moving treadmill training (MTT) were accepted respectively.

Objective: To evaluate whether the intense simplified strategy, which comprises short term intensive insulin therapy (SIIT) followed by subsequent oral antihyperglycaemic regimens, could improve long term glycaemic outcomes in patients with newly diagnosed type 2 diabetes mellitus and severe hyperglycaemia.

Background: The disorder of uric acid metabolism is closely associated with gut microbiota and short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs) dysregulation, but the biological mechanism is unclear, limiting the development of uric acid-lowering active polysaccharides. Konjac glucomannan (KGM) could attenuate metabolic disturbance of uric acid and modulate the gut microbiota. However, the relationship between uric acid metabolism and gut microbiota is still unknown.

This technical note outlines a minimalist arthroscopic approach to anterior cruciate ligament avulsion fracture fixation using a bioabsorbable knotless suture anchor. This method represents a less invasive alternative to traditional techniques, catering specifically to fractures classified as Meyers and McKeever type II or III. The procedure is performed through standard anterolateral and anteromedial portals without the need for additional incisions or bone tunnel drilling, making it particularly suitable for children and adolescent patients with open physes.

Colitis-associated colorectal cancer (CAC) frequently develops in patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) who have been exposed to a prolonged state of chronic inflammation. Previous studies have demonstrated that vitexin effectively mitigates CAC, however, its precise mechanism of action warrants further exploration.

Objectives: The prognosis-predicting factors for non-surgical patients receiving continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT) and extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) remains limited. Based on our previous study, we found that tescalcin (TESC), a calcium-binding EF hand protein that plays a crucial role in chromatin remodeling, transcriptional regulation, and epigenetic modifications, was up-regulated in LCSCs of spheroid cultures.
