Students' perceptions of nursing influence their choice of nursing as a career and whether they remain in the profession. The aim of this study was to explore the perceptions of entry-level male and female nursing students and the reasons for choosing nursing as a career. A qualitative approach was used by focus group interviews with 31 nursing students, and socio-demographic data were collected by questionnaire.

The purpose of this study was to translate the Clinical Care Classification System into Turkish and evaluate its applicability to the care of elderly nursing home residents. This study uses a quasi-experimental design in which interventions and evaluations are repeated at specified time intervals in a single group and in which the Clinical Care Classification System is evaluated in a descriptive manner through the use of documents obtained from the system to test the applicability of the system for the care of elderly nursing home residents. Twenty-eight elderly people participated in the study.

The aim of this paper was to investigate the effect of aromatherapy massage using lavender oil as a possible treatment for this condition. This research was carried out on a group of 40 infants between 2 and 6 weeks of age with a gestational age of 38-42 weeks and normal development and growth. All the infants weighed between 2500 and 4000 g at birth and all exhibited the signs of colic.

There is no co-ordinated focus on liabilities arising from nurses' medical interventions in terms of occupational, administrative, civil legal and criminal activities. However, the Turkish Criminal Code, the Turkish Medical Ethics Code of Practice, and guidelines for patients' rights offer some framework for the relevant ethical principles and responsibilities of nurses. The aim of this study was to investigate the evaluation of nursing students' training in their legal liabilities.

Background: This study was conducted with the mothers of 1-3 year old children as a quasi-experimental study for the purpose of examining the effect of home safety education on taking precautions and the incidence of home accidents.

Methods: The research sample was composed of 60 mothers of 1-3 year old children who were living in Civril municipality of Denizli province, had no difficulty in communication, agreed to participate in the research, were not working and could read and write.

Results: The tools used for data collection were "0-6 Year Old Children's Mothers' Knowledge of Safety Precautions for the Prevention of Home Accidents Scale" and "Frequency of Encountering Home Accidents Form".

Aim: To determine the awareness of a regulation on patients' rights passed in 1998 in Turkey.

Methods: All hospitalized patients in the internal medicine and general surgery wards in three large hospitals during the study period were eligible for the study, which was performed in 2001 in the Denizli province, Turkey. The study group consisted of 166 patients.
