This paper details the preparation of acrylamide-based supermacroporous cryogels and their application in removing lysozyme from aqueous solutions. N-Vinyl imidazole was copolymerized with acrylamide as a comonomer to impart pseudo-specificity to the cryogels, forming poly(AAm-VIM) cryogel. Characterization studies to assess the physical and chemical properties of the synthesized cryogels involved swelling tests, Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR), elemental analysis, Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscopy (FESEM), and Thermogravimetric Analysis (TGA-DTA).

Introduction: Morphea, also known as localized scleroderma, is a rare fibrosing inflammatory disease of unknown pathogenesis.

Objectives: Although the genetic basis for morphea is important, reports on the evaluation of Toll-like receptors (TLR) in this disease is quite limited. Introduction: Pulmonary hypertension (PH) is a serious condition associated with high morbidity and mortality, with obesity identified as a significant risk factor. Pulmonary arterial stiffness (PAS) is an early marker of PH, often preceding clinical symptoms. While laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy (LSG) has been shown to improve various cardiac parameters in obese patients, its impact on PAS and right ventricular (RV) function in the absence of PH remains unclear.

Inhibitor development upon switching from plasma-derived to recombinant factor VIII in previously untreated patients with severe hemophilia A: the PUP-SWITCH study.

Background: The SIPPET randomized clinical trial showed that in previously untreated patients (PUPs) with severe hemophilia A, treatment with plasma-derived factor (F)VIII (pdFVIII) within the first 50 exposure days (EDs) was associated with a lower cumulative incidence of inhibitors than with recombinant FVIII (rFVIII). Switching to rFVIII beyond 50 EDs with pdFVIII is a treatment often implemented by many centers. The question is whether or not this switch may induce a risk of inhibitor development.

In the period between October 2017 and September 2019, field studies were conducted with the aim of elucidating the gall wasp (Hymenoptera: Cynipidae and Diplolepididae) fauna of the Eastern Black Sea Region (Northeastern Türkiye). Gall samples were collected from 695 different localities within the research area, comprising a total of seven provinces (Artvin, Bayburt, Giresun, Gümüşhane, Ordu, Rize and Trabzon). As a result of these investigations, a total of 90 species belonging to 18 genera were recorded.

Effect of Neurodevelopmental Treatment on fall risk and balance in children with spastic cerebral palsy: randomized controlled trial.

Background: This study aimed to investigate the causes of failure after the ileal pouch-anal anastomosis (IPAA) procedure for ulcerative colitis (UC) and to determine the independent risk factors affecting their quality of life.

Methods: This multi-center cohort study included all UC patients who underwent IPAA at nine referral centers in Türkiye from 2010 to 2018. Centers were categorized as high-volume (≥10 cases/year) or low-volume (<10 cases/year).

Xenophobia among healthcare professionals can significantly impact the quality of care provided to immigrant and refugee populations, particularly in countries with high influxes such as Türkiye. This study evaluated xenophobia among resident physicians at Pamukkale University Hospital and identified factors influencing these attitudes. This cross-sectional study involving 271 resident physicians at Pamukkale University Hospital was conducted between August 1 and August 20, 2022.

Assessment of morin hydrate as a renal protective agent in rats subjected to methotrexate-induced nephrotoxicity.

Methotrexate (MTX) is a generally applied chemotherapeutic medicine in most cancers treatment. Morin hydrate, a robust antioxidant, is a secondary metabolite observed in numerous plants, along with figs, white mulberries, and others. The hypothesis of this study is that morin hydrate can effectively reduce MTX-induced kidney injury in rats by increasing antioxidant enzyme activity and inhibiting apoptotic processes.
