  • - The study assessed trauma CT interpretation proficiency among emergency medicine residents in Turkey, finding a median accuracy rate of 64.9% with factors influencing interpretation performance analyzed.
  • - Four main factors linked to interpretation failure were identified: shorter interpretation times, lower self-confidence, over-reliance on radiology reports, and lack of departmental training programs.
  • - The findings suggest the necessity for improved educational strategies in radiology for emergency medicine residents to enhance their skills in trauma CT interpretation and ultimately improve patient care outcomes.

Background: The individual experience of fatigue and fatigability in individuals with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) can vary greatly, beyond the high prevalence of fatigue in MS. Although fatigue is known as a common symptom that affects and potentially limits individuals with MS, it has recently been determined that fatigability also causes consequences that limit individuals' daily lives. The purpose of this study was to compare the associations between self-reported levels of fatigue, measured fatigability, and estimates of functional capacity in people with MS and sex- and age-matched healthy individuals.

  • Dapagliflozin (DPG) is an SGLT2 inhibitor suggested to have anti-inflammatory effects, and this study aimed to assess its ability to protect against damage in the female genital system caused by lipopolysaccharide (LPS).
  • In an experiment with 32 female Wistar Albino rats, the research involved different groups treated with control, LPS, LPS + DPG, and DPG alone, with subsequent analysis of their ovary, fallopian tubes, and uterus tissues.
  • Results showed that LPS led to significant tissue damage and increased oxidative stress, but DPG treatment effectively prevented these harmful changes, suggesting its potential as a protective agent in the female reproductive system.

  • Swyer-James-MacLeod syndrome makes one lung lobe look really empty on chest scans, and it is linked to other lung problems like air trapping and less blood flow.
  • If a child has a common heart issue called a ventricular septal defect and it isn't treated, it can lead to serious lung problems like Eisenmenger syndrome.
  • Identifying Swyer-James-MacLeod syndrome early is important for giving the right treatment to help patients with unusual lung conditions.

  • The study aimed to determine if patients who underwent percutaneous liver mass biopsy (PLMB) could be safely discharged after a two-hour monitoring period.
  • It involved 375 patients and found that minor complications occurred in 18.93% and major complications in 2.13%, mostly within the first two hours.
  • The conclusion indicated that the two-hour monitoring is sufficient for identifying most complications, suggesting that longer monitoring does not significantly enhance patient care.

Purpose: The aim of this study was to evaluate the impact of mechanical roughening, adhesive applications, and aging on the bonding between CAD-CAM denture base materials with distinct chemical contents and hard relining material.

Materials And Methods: A total of 300 denture base specimens were produced by additive, subtractive, and conventional heat-polymerization techniques (N = 100). The specimens have been classified into five subgroups based on the particular surface treatments administered (n = 20): (1) Hard relining material's adhesive application (control); (2) Tungsten carbide bur application for 1 min, and hard reline material's adhesive application; (3) Airborne-particle abrasion (APA) with 110 μm AlO, and hard reline material's adhesive application; (4) Scotchbond Universal application; and (5) Visio.

Coniferous trees produce secondary or defense chemicals, such as terpenes, against pest insects. Terpenes could serve as constitutive or induced defensive mechanisms, defending the tree from invasive herbivores. The Mediterranean pine shoot beetle Tomicus destruens colonizes stems and branches of Pinus brutia trees and even can kill mature trees during periodic outbreaks.

Background Ureteropelvic junction stenosis (UPJS) is the most common cause of clinically significant antenatal hydronephrosis. We compared separate renal function results obtained using technetium-99m-mercaptoacetyltriglycine (Tc-99m MAG-3) and technetium-99m-dimercaptosuccinic acid (Tc-99m DMSA) in pediatric patients with UPJS to evaluate the adequacy of Tc-99m MAG-3 scintigraphy and the necessity of additional Tc-99m DMSA scintigraphy during follow-up. Methodology Patients diagnosed with hydronephrosis in the Pediatric Nephrology Department of Pamukkale University Faculty of Medicine over a period of 10 years (2012-2022) were evaluated retrospectively.
