Associated vestibular loss, electrode insertion trauma, and electrical stimulus of a cochlear implant can influence postural control. This study focused on the electrical stimulation of the cochlea.

Background: The individual experience of fatigue and fatigability in individuals with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) can vary greatly, beyond the high prevalence of fatigue in MS. Although fatigue is known as a common symptom that affects and potentially limits individuals with MS, it has recently been determined that fatigability also causes consequences that limit individuals' daily lives. The purpose of this study was to compare the associations between self-reported levels of fatigue, measured fatigability, and estimates of functional capacity in people with MS and sex- and age-matched healthy individuals.

Impact of COVID-19 on Sleep, Anxiety, and Depression Among Medical Call Center Staff: Insights from a January 2021 Study.

BACKGROUND The COVID-19 outbreak emerged as a dual threat, effecting both the physical and mental well-being of healthcare staff. This study aimed to evaluate sleep quality using the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI), levels of anxiety and depression using the Hospital Anxiety Depression Scale (HADS), and the significant influencing factors during COVID-19 pandemic in 284 workers in a medical call center in January 2021. MATERIAL AND METHODS Out of 443 pre-hospital care providers, 284 consented to participate.

Effect of adhesives and mechanical surface treatments on the hard relining of CAD-CAM denture bases.

Purpose: The aim of this study was to evaluate the impact of mechanical roughening, adhesive applications, and aging on the bonding between CAD-CAM denture base materials with distinct chemical contents and hard relining material.

Materials And Methods: A total of 300 denture base specimens were produced by additive, subtractive, and conventional heat-polymerization techniques (N = 100). The specimens have been classified into five subgroups based on the particular surface treatments administered (n = 20): (1) Hard relining material's adhesive application (control); (2) Tungsten carbide bur application for 1 min, and hard reline material's adhesive application; (3) Airborne-particle abrasion (APA) with 110 μm AlO, and hard reline material's adhesive application; (4) Scotchbond Universal application; and (5) Visio.

Objective: Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) constitutes an autoimmune disorder with potential involvement of the gastrointestinal system (GIS). Our objective was to assess the gastrointestinal (GI) manifestations in patients diagnosed with childhood onset SLE.

Methods: The study cohort consisted of 123 patients with childhood onset-SLE and GIS involvement from 16 referral departments of pediatric rheumatology.

Introduction: For years, gender inequality has conditioned women's participation in sport, exposing them to difficult situations and numerous barriers to face. However, no previous research has analyzed the situation of women in sport from the perspective of the athletes themselves, or from the perspective of the coaches, teachers or managers who work with them.

Methods: This study examines the perspectives of European women athletes, sports managers, physical education teachers, and sports coaches, on gender equity in sports across six European countries: Greece, Ireland, Italy, Portugal, Spain, and Turkey.

Terpenes could serve as constitutive or induced defensive mechanisms, defending the tree from invasive herbivores. The Mediterranean pine shoot beetle Tomicus destruens colonizes stems and branches of Pinus brutia trees and even can kill mature trees during periodic outbreaks.

Background Ureteropelvic junction stenosis (UPJS) is the most common cause of clinically significant antenatal hydronephrosis. We compared separate renal function results obtained using technetium-99m-mercaptoacetyltriglycine (Tc-99m MAG-3) and technetium-99m-dimercaptosuccinic acid (Tc-99m DMSA) in pediatric patients with UPJS to evaluate the adequacy of Tc-99m MAG-3 scintigraphy and the necessity of additional Tc-99m DMSA scintigraphy during follow-up. Methodology Patients diagnosed with hydronephrosis in the Pediatric Nephrology Department of Pamukkale University Faculty of Medicine over a period of 10 years (2012-2022) were evaluated retrospectively.

Methods: Eighty children/adolescents (42 female, 38 male) diagnosed with FMF according to Tell-Hashomer diagnostic criteria were included in this study. Gender roles as predictive factors on labor pain: a cross-sectional study.

Labor is a complex, subjective experience, and all factors that influence pain should be considered to ensure a comprehensive evaluation. This study aimed to determine whether gender roles were predictive of labor pain. The study has a descriptive and cross-sectional design.

The effects of testicular stromal stem cells on surgically injured testicular tissue in rats.

This study investigated the effects of transplanted testicular stromal stem cells (tSSCs) on surgically damaged testis tissue. Ten-week-old male Wistar albino rats were divided into three groups: control (n = 6), damage (DG) (n = 6) and testicular stromal stem cell (TSSC) (n = 6) groups. Surgically induced damage was inflicted on the left testes of both the DG and TSSC groups, with no intervention on the right testes.

New cyclometalated iridium(III) complexes bearing substituted 2-(1H-benzimidazol-2-yl)quinoline: Synthesis, characterization, electrochemical and anticancer studies.

New iridium(III) compounds (C-C) bearing 2-(1H-benzimidazol-2-yl)quinoline ligands with different side groups (benzyl, 2,3,4,5,6-pentamethylbenzyl and 2,3,4,5,6-pentafluorobenzyl) were synthesized and characterized by using spectroscopic analyses. The effects of different side groups of iridium compounds on the photophysical and electrochemical properties have been investigated. The cytotoxicity and apoptosis of the compounds have been evaluated on breast cancer cell lines using various methods including MTT assay, flow cytometry, qRT-PCR, and colony formation.

Evaluation of Long-Coronavirus Disease 2019 Cases Readmitted to Intensive Care Units Due to Acute Respiratory Failure: Point Prevalence Study.

Smoking Cessation Support via Video Counseling (e-Cessation): A Promising Field for Telemedicine Implementation.

Objective:  The study aimed to investigate the utility of telemedicine conducted via video counseling in comparison to the previous structured approach and to compare prepandemic smoking cessation success rates with traditional counseling.

Material And Methods:  The applicants of the outpatient clinic for smoking cessation support pre- and post-pandemic periods were included in the study. The time intervals were retrospectively between 1 March and 30 August 2021 and the last 3 months of the year 2019.
