Background: Depression that occurs in pregnancy or postpartum (perinatal depression) impacts 1 in 5 mothers, yet access to effective and high-quality preventative interventions remains elusive for most. Digital interventions are a promising solution to this treatment gap because of the ubiquity of mobile devices and internet access. The Mothers and Babies Online Course (eMB) is an online adaptation of Mothers and Babies, an evidence-based preventative program for postpartum depression.

This research has focused primarily on the types of traumatic experiences people endure, highlighting the role of sexual trauma in particular. However, recent research on the association between traumatic events and histrionic personality characteristics has not taken into account the role of traumatic experiences characterized by interpersonal betrayal, which research suggests is associated with personality pathology in general.

Feasibility study of a telehealth school-based behavioral parent training group program for attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder.

Objective: To evaluate the feasibility and preliminary efficacy of Telehealth Behavioral Parent Training (T-BPT), a school telehealth group intervention for attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) with a companion training program for school clinicians.

Methods: T-BPT was developed in an iterative three-phase design in partnership with community stakeholders during the COVID-19 pandemic. School clinicians (N = 4) delivered T-BPT over 8 weeks to parents (N = 21, groups of 5-6 per school) of children (Grades 2-5) with ADHD while simultaneously receiving training and consultation from PhD-level study trainers.

Prior trauma exposure significantly increases the risk of developing PTSD following medical stressors and may contribute to the development of medically induced PTSD. However, healthcare systems often overlook the interaction between prior trauma and current medical stressors, contributing to negative psychosocial and health-related outcomes for patients. Integration of both trauma-informed and trauma-focused practices into psychosocial programming in medical settings may be key to effectively addressing the needs of trauma-exposed patients.
