Motor imagery (MI) is a mental simulation of a movement without its actual execution. Our study aimed to assess how MI of two modalities of gait (normal gait and much more posturally challenging slackline gait) affects muscle activity and lower body kinematics. Electromyography (biceps femoris, gastrocnemius medialis, rectus femoris and tibialis anterior muscles) as well as acceleration and angular velocity (shank, thigh and pelvis segments) data were collected in three tasks for both MI modalities of gait (rest, gait imagery before and after the real execution of gait) in quiet bipedal stance in 26 healthy young adults.

Background: Given the critical role of general practitioners (GPs), their insufficient medical density and the adverse effects of burnout on both practitioners and the quality of care provided, the prevalence estimates of GP burnout reported in the literature are highly concerning. This nationwide study builds on a 2023 survey that revealed a significant burden of burnout among Czech GPs. The primary objectives were to analyse the prevalence and determinants of burnout and to examine potential trends over time.

This study demonstrates a simple method to control the size and distribution of gold (Au) nanoparticles grown on the surface of spaced titanium dioxide (TiO) nanotubes by varying the deposition time of magnetron sputtering. While shorter depositions led to small and well-separated Au nanoparticles, longer depositions promoted the formation of quasi-continuous layers with small interparticle gaps.

In a subset of patients with NAFLD, an inflammatory process arises in the steatotic liver, known as non-alcoholic steatohepatitis, that leads to liver fibrosis and liver cirrhosis. Starting from benzyl 30-oxobetulinate and 30-oxobetulin diacetate, substituted dienes were synthesized and subjected to Diels-Alder reaction, yielding a variety of triterpenoid phthalates, phthalimides, and related derivatives.
