Background: Prostate cancer (PCa) is definitively diagnosed by systematic prostate biopsy (SBx) with 13 cores. This method, however, can increase the risk of urinary retention, infection and bleeding due to the excessive number of biopsy cores.

Methods: We retrospectively analyzed 622 patients who underwent SBx with prostate multiparametric MRI (mpMRI) from two centers between January 2014 to June 2022.

Sleep quality and cognitive functioning among Chinese older adults living in the US: a mixed-effects model analysis.

Background: Racial and ethnic disparities in sleep quality and cognitive health are increasingly recognized, yet little is understood about their associations among Chinese older adults living in the United States. This study aims to examine the relationships between sleep health and cognitive functioning in this population, utilizing data from the Population Study of Chinese Elderly in Chicago (PINE).

Methods: This observational study utilized a two-wave panel design as part of the PINE, including 2,228 participants aged 65 years or older who self-identified as Chinese.

Background: The treatment of metastatic breast cancer (mBC) focuses on prolonging patient survival, providing adequate symptom management, and maintaining quality of life (QoL). This includes supportive therapy to prevent or treat potential side effects and handle comorbidities. The combination of mBC therapy, supportive therapy, and treatment for comorbidities increases the risk for polypharmacy, potential drug-drug interactions (pDDI), potentially inappropriate medication (PIM), and potentially missing drugs (pMD).

Real-world short-term outcomes and treatment regimen comparisons in patients with metastatic renal cell carcinoma treated with first-line immune combinations.

Background: Immune-combinations have recently become the standard first-line treatment for patients with metastatic renal cell carcinoma (mRCC). This study evaluated the applicability of the International Metastatic Renal Cell Carcinoma Database Consortium (IMDC) risk model in predicting outcomes for patients treated with either immune-oncologic drug doublet (IO-IO) or immune-oncologic drug tyrosine kinase inhibitor combinations (IO-TKI). A secondary objective to compare the effectiveness of IO-IO versus IO-TKI within the IMDC risk groups over a short follow-up period.

Background: Primary pulmonary Mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue (MALT) lymphoma is a sporadic disease with a favorable prognosis. Vanishing bile duct syndrome (VBDS) is a serious drug induced liver injury characterized by chronic cholestasis and loss of intrahepatic bile ducts. VBDS has been reported also following checkpoint inhibitor treatment. We compared CD3 + , CD4 + , CD8 + , CD20 + , CD57 + , PD-1 + and PD-L1 + lymphocyte infiltrates in liver biopsies of patients that encountered VBDS (n = 2) or hepatotoxicity (n = 3) after pembrolizumab (n = 4) or nivolumab (n = 1) treatment with samples from normal liver (n = 10), non-alcohol steatohepatitis (NASH, n = 10), primary biliary cholangitis (PBC, n = 10) or pembrolizumab-treated patients without adverse events (n = 2).

By analyzing 61 breast cancer samples using tandem mass tag (TMT) labeling and mass spectrometry, coupled with whole-exome sequencing (WES) or targeted sequencing, we identified key genetic mutations and their impact on protein expression.

However, P. aeruginosa belonging to the sequence type (ST) 16 was rarely reported.

We performed the largest study of sex differences in brain volumes (N = 33,208) by examining sex differences both in the raw brain volumes and after controlling the whole brain volumes.
