Organoboron complexes have garnered significant attention due to their remarkable optical properties and diverse applications. However, synthesizing stable fused five-, six- and seven-membered organoboron complexes possess significant challenges. In this study, we successfully developed novel mono-nuclear (6-8 & 10) and di-nuclear (9) organoboron complexes supported by triaminoguanidine-salicylidene based -symmetric Schiff base ligands one-step condensation reaction with excess phenylboronic acid.

Our study focused on specific ChR2 variants, particularly those with the Step function Opsins (SFO) mutation at the D156-C128 gate. These are widely used in optogenetics due to their heightened sensitivity to light and bi-stable prolonged activation. However, in some ChR2 variants, specifically D156 mutants, a tail current occurs when continuous light exposure is stopped.

Cancer cells often upregulate ribosome biogenesis to meet increased protein synthesis demands for rapid proliferation; therefore, targeting ribosome biogenesis has emerged as a promising cancer therapeutic strategy. Herein, we introduce two Pt complexes, ataluren monosubstituted platinum(IV) (SPA, formula: c,c,t,-[Pt(NH)Cl(OH)(CHFNO)], where CHFNO = ataluren) and ataluren bisubstituted platinum(IV) complex (DPA, formula: c,c,t,-[Pt(NH)Cl(CHFNO)], where CHFNO = ataluren), which effectively suppress ribosome biogenesis by inhibiting 47s pre-RNA expression. Furthermore, SPA and DPA induce nucleolar stress by dispersing nucleolar protein NPM1, ultimately inhibiting protein generation in tumor cells.

O3-type NaNiMnO cathode material exhibits significant potential for sodium-ion batteries (SIBs) owing to its high theoretical capacity and ample sodium reservoir. Nonetheless, its practical implementation encounters considerable obstacles, such as impaired structural integrity, sensitivity to moisture, inadequate high-temperature stability, and being unstable under high-voltage conditions. This study investigates the co-substitution of Cu, Mg, and Ti, guided by principles of the periodic law, to enhance the material's stability under varying conditions.

Multi-resonance thermally activated delayed fluorescence (MR-TADF) emitters have been actively employed in high-resolution solution-processed organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs) due to their excellent color purity. Nonetheless, they are always confronted with intrinsic slow spin flip of triplet excitons, impeding the electroluminescence properties, especially in non-sensitized OLEDs. Herein, we constructed intramolecular charge transfer (ICT) assisted MR-TADF emitters by grafting donor-acceptor-type moieties with a - or -substitution as a pendant on an organoboron multi-resonance core.

The process of proton translocation in , triggered by light, is powered by the photoisomerization of all--retinal in bacteriorhodopsin (bR). The primary events in bR involving rapid structural changes upon light absorption occur within subpicoseconds to picoseconds. While the three-state model has received extensive support in describing the primary events between the H and K states, precise characterization of each excited state in the three-state model during photoisomerization remains elusive.

Thermodynamic therapy (TDT) is a promising alternative to photodynamic therapy (PDT) by absorbing heat through thermosensitive agents (TSAs) to generate oxygen-irrelevant highly toxic free radicals. Therefore, TDT can be a perfect partner for photothermal therapy (PTT) to achieve efficient synergistic treatment of anoxic tumors using a single laser, greatly simplifying the treatment process and overcoming hypoxia limitations. However, the issues of how to improve the stability and delivery efficiency of TSAs still need to be addressed urgently.
