Cell membrane targeting sonodynamic therapy could induce the accumulation of lipid peroxidation (LPO), drive ferroptosis, and further enhances immunogenic cell death (ICD) effects. However, ferroptosis is restrained by the ferroptosis suppressor protein 1 (FSP1) at the plasma membrane, which can catalyze the regeneration of ubiquinone (CoQ10) by using NAD(P)H to suppress the LPO accumulation. This work describes the construction of US-active nanoparticles (TiF NPs), which combinate cell-membrane targeting sonosensitizer TBT-CQi with FSP1 inhibitor (iFSP1), facilitating cell-membrane targeting sonodynamic-triggered ferroptosis.

Uncontrollable non-compressible hemorrhage and traumatic infection have been major causes of mortality and disability in both civilian and military populations. A dressing designed for point-of-care control of non-compressible hemorrhage and prevention of traumatic infections represents an urgent medical need. Here, a novel self-gelling sponge OHN@ε-pL is developed, integrating N-succinimidyl ester oxidized hyaluronic acid (OHN) and ε-poly-L-lysine (ε-pL).

It has been established that steady supply of energy to various sectors of the economy is critical for societal growth and development. According to recent figures, barely one-third of the whole population in Sub-Saharan Africa has access to electricity, making the region the poorest in the world in terms of access to electrical power today. This stands in stark contrast to the vast energy resources that could be utilized to provide the necessary energy.

Selenium-enriched probiotics have attracted much attention due to the physiological activities of both probiotics and selenium (organic selenium). In this study, we investigated the mitigating effect of selenium-enriched GG (LGG@Se) and its pathway on alcohol-induced liver injury (ALI) in mice. The results showed that LGG@Se was superior to LGG and sodium selenite in alleviating ALI.

As a recently discovered form of regulated cell death, ferroptosis has attracted much attention in the field cancer therapy. However, achieving considerably enhanced efficacy is often restricted by the overexpression of endogenous glutathione (GSH) in tumor microenvironment (TME). In this work, we report a ferroptosis-inducing strategy of GSH depletion and reactive oxygen species (ROS) generation based on a biodegradable copper-doped calcium phosphate (CaP) with L-buthionine sulfoximine (BSO) loading (denoted as BSO@CuCaP-LOD, BCCL).

Through millions of years of evolution, bones have developed a complex and elegant hierarchical structure, utilizing tropocollagen and hydroxyapatite to attain an intricate balance between modulus, strength, and toughness. In this study, continuous fiber silk composites (CFSCs) of large size are prepared to mimic the hierarchical structure of natural bones, through the inheritance of the hierarchical structure of fiber silk and the integration with a polyester matrix. Due to the robust interface between the matrix and fiber silk, CFSCs show maintained stable long-term mechanical performance under wet conditions.

Background: Although previous studies have investigated the risk factors for rotator cuff syndrome (RCS), there remains controversy due to uncontrolled and uncertain confounding factors in their analyses.
Purpose: To perform Mendelian randomization (MR) analysis using single-nucleotide polymorphisms to investigate the causal relationship between RCS and 4 risk factors: type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM), high blood pressure (HBP), body mass index (BMI), and low high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C).
Study Design: Descriptive epidemiology study.

Metal halide perovskites (MHPs) have been developed rapidly for application in light-emitting diodes (LEDs), lasers, solar cells, photodetectors and other fields in recent years due to their excellent photoelectronic properties, and they have attracted the attention of many researchers. Perovskite LEDs (PeLEDs) show great promise for next-generation lighting and display technologies, and the external quantum efficiency (EQE) values of polycrystalline thin-film PeLEDs exceed 20%, which is undoubtedly a big breakthrough in lighting and display fields. However, the toxicity and instabilities of lead-based MHPs remain major obstacles limiting their further commercial applications.

Two-dimensional conductive metal-organic frameworks (2D c-MOFs) with high electrical conductivity and tunable structures hold significant promise for applications in metal-ion batteries. However, the construction of 3D interpenetrated c-MOFs for applications in metal-ion batteries is rarely reported. Herein, a 3D four-fold interpenetrated c-MOF (Cu-DBC) constructed by conjugated and contorted dibenzo[,]chrysene-2,3,6,7,10,11,14,15-octaol (DBC) ligands is explored as an advanced cathode material for sodium-ion batteries (SIBs) for the first time.

Given that optical thermometers are widely used due to their unique advantages, this study aims to address critical challenges in existing technologies, such as insufficient sensitivity, limited temperature measurement ranges, and poor signal recognition capabilities. Herein, we develop a thermometer based on the fluorescence intensity ratio (FIR) of Sb-doped CsNaInCl (CsNaInCl:Sb). As the temperature increases from 203 to 323 K, the thermally induced transition from triplet to singlet self-trapped excitons (STEs) leads to enhanced 455 nm photoluminescence (PL) from singlet STE recombination.

A molecular ligand separation method based on multivariate metal-organic frameworks (MOF) is developed to precisely regulate CuSn alloy for tuning the selectivity of HCOOH and CO in CO reduction. With this method, the agglomeration and heterogeneous nucleations of metals are effectively inhibited during the electrochemical transformation of CuSn-MOFs into highly pure CuSn alloy. The low Sn content favors CO production, while the high Sn concentration facilitates HCOOH formation.
