This study investigates camel milk protein structural dynamics during digestion using Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy and Two-Dimensional Infrared (2D-IR) homo-correlation and hetero-correlation analysis. The synchronous 2DIR homo-correlation map reveals that NH bending and C-N stretching vibrations (amide II) are sensitive to digestion, indicating significant impacts on secondary structures. The asynchronous 2DIR homo-correlation indicates a stepwise process, where initial disruptions in NH interactions precede changes in CO stretching vibrations (amide I), highlighting the sequence of structural alterations during protein unfolding and degradation.

Traffic signals, while reducing conflicts within intersections, often lead to stop-and-go behaviors in approaching vehicles, negatively impacting traffic flow in terms of safety, efficiency, and fuel consumption. Aimed at minimizing the traffic oscillations caused by traffic signals through Connected and Autonomous Vehicles (CAVs) and meeting real-time operational needs, this paper proposes a Risk-Based Adaptive Cruise Control (RACC). RACC designs the constraints of approaching a signalized intersection as expected risks, enabling compliance with all constraints while being adaptable to basic road scenarios.

Tissue engineering (TE) involves repairing, replacing, regeneration, or improving the function of tissues and organs by combining cells, growth factors and scaffold materials. Among these, scaffold materials play a crucial role. Silk fibroin (SF), a natural biopolymer, has been widely used in the TE field due to its good biodegradability, biocompatibility, and mechanical properties attributed to its chemical composition and structure.

Death from mechanical asphyxia (DMA) refers to death from acute respiratory disorder caused by mechanical violence. Due to the absence of characteristic signs in corpses, it has been rather challenging to achieve the precise authentication of DMA. In this research, human pulmonary samples were collected and grouped according to different causes of death in search of potential biomarkers of DMA.

Developing nanomedicines with enhanced activity to scavenge reactive oxygen species (ROS) has emerged as a promising strategy for addressing ROS-associated diseases, such as drug-induced liver injury. However, designing nanozymes that not only remove ROS but also accelerate the repair of damaged liver cells remains challenging. Here, a two-pronged black phosphorus/Ceria nanozyme with mitochondria-targeting ability (TBP@CeO) is designed.

In recent years, metabolite identification of chemical constituents of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) has been extensively studied. However, due to the intricacy of metabolic processes and the low concentration of metabolites, identifying metabolites of TCM in vivo is still a tough work. Meanwhile, credibility of metabolite identification through mass spectrum technology has been called into question by reason of the lack of metabolite standards.

Electrochemiluminescence (ECL)-based point-of-care testing (POCT) has the potential to facilitate the rapid identification of diseases, offering advantages such as high sensitivity, strong selectivity, and minimal background interference. However, as the throughput of these devices increases, the issues of increased energy consumption and cross-contamination of samples remain. In this study, a high-throughput ECL biosensor platform with the assistance of machine learning algorithms is developed by combining a microcolumn array electrode, a microelectrochemical workstation, and a smartphone with custom software.

The development of earth-abundant oxygen evolution reaction (OER) electrocatalysts with high activity and durability is critical for replacing noble-metal-based catalysts in the applications of scalable water electrolysis. A freestanding electrode architecture offers significant advantages over conventional coated powder forms due to enhanced kinetics and stability. However, precise control over electrode composition and the construction of uniformly distributed active sites within these electrodes remain challenging.

Despite phthalocyanine has excellent photodynamic and photothermal effects as a photosensitizer and photothermal agent, hydrophobicity and aggregation limits its biological application. In this paper, phthalocyanine-cyanine co-assembled nanoparticles were designed to modulate the dimensions and morphology by introducing water-soluble cyanine. The cyanine had the ability to transform the nanomaterials from microrods to nanospheres, thus successfully constructing photoactivated nanomedicines.

The limited understanding of microbial response mechanism remains as a bottleneck to evaluate the long-term remediation effectiveness of in situ chemical oxidation in contaminated groundwater. In this study, we investigated long-term response of bacterial communities throughout five remediation stages of pre-oxidation, early-oxidation, late-oxidation, early-recovery and late-recovery. By analyzing bacterial biomass, taxa, diversity and metabolic functions, this work identified the consistently suppressed glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase pathway and the enrichment of naphthalene degradation pathways for secondary products, suggesting persistent oxidation stress and enhanced microbial utilization of lower-molecular weight carbon sources at the oxidation and early-recovery stages.

In this study, we designed a molecularly imprinted electrochemical sensor based on the reduced graphene oxide/polydopamine@Mxene (RPM) and FeCu-MOF for the detection of antiviral drug ribavirin (RBV). The RPM composite enhances the active surface area and electron transport capacity of the sensor, and the incorporation of FeCu-MOF can not only further improve the catalytic performance of the material, but also enables the sensor to harness the electrical reduction signal of HO. Furthermore, we developed an optimized molecularly imprinted polymer via density functional theory (DFT) to enhance the sensor's specificity and sensitivity for RBV detection.

Given the absence of estrogen receptor (ER), progesterone receptor (PR), and human epidermal growth factor receptor-2 (Her-2) in triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) cells, the efficacy of targeted therapies is limited. In this study, we uncovered that triptolide (TP) effectively suppresses the migration and invasiveness of MDA-MB-231 cells by activating autophagic pathways. Western blotting analysis revealed that TP significantly reduced the expression levels of p62 protein, while simultaneously markedly increasing the expression levels of LC3B-II, BNIP3, BNIP3L, ATG5, and ULK1 proteins, strongly suggesting an enhancement of autophagic activity in the cells.

Phosphors with broadband green emission are highly desirable for the construction of high-color-rendering warm-white light-emitting diode (LED) devices toward healthy solid-state lighting applications. However, most of the reported green phosphors are subject to an undesirable emission bandwidth and low quantum efficiency. Here, a highly efficient broadband green-emitting garnet phosphor, CaLuScAlSiO:Ce (CLSASO:Ce), is successfully synthesized and investigated in detail.
