Background: Germin-like proteins (GLPs) are ubiquitous plant proteins, which play significant role in plant responses against various abiotic stresses. However, the potential functions of GLPs in rice (Oryza sativa) against salt and drought stress are still unclear.
Methods And Results: In this study, transcriptional variation of eight OsGLP genes (OsGLP3-6, OsGLP4-1, OsGLP8-4, OsGLP8-7, OsGLP8-10, OsGLP8-11 and OsGLP8-12) was analyzed in leaves and roots of two economically important Indica rice cultivars, KS282 and Super Basmati, under salt and drought stress at early seedling stage.

Co-surfactant free l-ascorbic acid (LAA) nanoemulsions were prepared using mixed surfactants (Soya lecithin and Tween 80). Response surface methodology (RSM) was used to optimise the emulsifying conditions for LAA nanoemulsions. The effects of water proportion (6%-14% w/w), homogenisation pressure (80-160 MPa), surfactant concentrations (4%-12% w/w) and LAA concentration (0.

Resveratrol (RV) is a well-known polyphenolic compound in various plants, including grape, peanut, and berry fruits, which is quite famous for its association with several health benefits such as anti-obesity, cardioprotective neuroprotective, antitumor, antidiabetic, antioxidants, anti-age effects, and glucose metabolism. Significantly, promising therapeutic properties have been reported in various cancer, neurodegeneration, and atherosclerosis and are regulated by several synergistic pathways that control oxidative stress, cell death, and inflammation. Similarly, RV possesses a strong anti-adipogenic effect by inhibiting fat accumulation processes and activating oxidative and lipolytic pathways, exhibiting their cardioprotective effects by inhibiting platelet aggregation.

Background: Many efforts have been made in recent years to investigate the alterations in protein-coding genes as well as non-coding RNAs that are playing an emerging role in the development and progression of cancers. These miRNAs are short non-coding functional RNAs that are involved in the regulation of transcriptome. In different studies, it was found that human miRNA-149 is an important microRNA that is functioning either as onco-miRNAs or acting as tumor suppressors, in different conditions.

Plant hormones are the molecules that control the vigorous development of plants and help to cope with the stress conditions efficiently due to vital and mechanized physiochemical regulations. Biologists and analytical chemists, both endorsed the extreme problems to quantify plant hormones due to their low level existence in plants and the technological support is devastatingly required to established reliable and efficient detection methods of plant hormones. Surface Enhanced Raman Spectroscopy (SERS) technology is becoming vigorously favored and can be used to accurately and specifically identify biological and chemical molecules.

A healthy honey bee stock is critical to the beekeeping industry and the sustainability of the ecosystem. The quality of the supplemental diet influences the development and strength of the colony, especially during the pollen dearth period in the surrounding environment. However, the extent to which pollen substitute protein feeding affects honey bee colony parameters is not fully known.

The efforts have been made to review phyllosilicate derived (clay-based) heterogeneous catalysts for biodiesel production via lignocellulose derived feedstocks. These catalysts have many practical and potential applications in green catalysis. Phyllosilicate derived heterogeneous catalysts (modified via any of these approaches like acid activated clays, ion exchanged clays and layered double hydroxides) exhibits excellent catalytic activity for producing cost effective and high yield biodiesel.

Currently, the global agriculture productivity is heavily relied on the use of chemical fertilizers. However, the low nutrient utilization efficiency (NUE) is the main obstacle for attaining higher crop productivity and reducing nutrients losses from these fertilizers to the environment. Coating fertilizer with micronutrients and biopolymer can offer an opportunity to overcome these fertilizers associated problems.

This study conducted an in-depth analysis combining computational and experimental verifications of the deleterious missense mutations associated with the SLC29A4 protein. The functional annotation of the non-synonymous single nucleotide polymorphism (nsSNPs), followed by structure-function analysis, revealed 13 single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNP) as the most damaging. Among these, six mutants P429T/S, L144S, M108V, N86H, and V79E, were predicted as structurally and functionally damaging by protein stability analysis.

The presence of manufactured nano-objects (MNOs) in various consumer or their (future large-scale) use as nanoagrochemical have increased with the rapid development of nanotechnology and therefore, concerns associated with its possible ecotoxicological effects are also arising. MNOs are releasing along the product life cycle, consequently accumulating in soils and other environmental matrices, and potentially leading to adverse effects on soil biota and their associated processes. Earthworms, of the group of Oligochaetes, are an ecologically significant group of organisms and play an important role in soil remediation, as well as acting as a potential vector for trophic transfer of MNOs through the food chain.
