Background: Smoking is a significant risk factor for pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC). This study aimed to investigate the effects of smoking on the pancreatic microbiome and metabolome in resectable and unresectable male PDAC patients.

Methods: The pancreatic tissue samples were collected from resectable PDACs via surgery and unresectable PDACs via endoscopic ultrasound fine needle aspiration (EUS-FNA).

Multivalent DNA Flowers for High-Performance Isolation, Detection, and Release of Tumor-Derived Extracellular Vesicles.

Tumor-derived extracellular vesicles (T-EVs) hold great promise for understanding cancer biology and improving cancer diagnostics and therapeutics. Herein, we developed multivalent DNA flowers (DFs) containing repeated and equidistant EpCAM aptamers for the efficient isolation of T-EVs. The multivalent aptamer chains in DFs had good flexibility to adapt to the surface morphology of T-EVs and achieved multivalent ligand-receptor interactions, thus showing enhanced isolation ability compared to monovalent aptamers.

Efficacy and safety of single-pill amlodipine/losartan versus losartan in patients with inadequately controlled hypertension after losartan treatment: a multicenter, double-blind, randomized phase III clinical trial.

Objective: Single-pill amlodipine besylate (AML) plus losartan (LOS) has been used to treat inadequately controlled hypertension after antihypertensive monotherapy; however, relevant data in China are limited. This study aimed to compare the efficacy and safety of single-pill AML/LOS and LOS alone in Chinese patients with inadequately controlled hypertension after LOS treatment.

Methods: In this multicenter, double-blind, randomized, controlled phase III clinical trial, patients with inadequately controlled hypertension after 4 weeks of LOS treatment were randomized to receive daily single-pill AML/LOS (5/100 mg, AML/LOS group,  = 154) or LOS (100 mg, LOS group,  = 153) tablets for 8 weeks.

This study aimed to analyze the role of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) data characteristics based on the deep learning algorithm in evaluating the treatment of diabetic foot (DF) with composite skin graft. In this study, 78 patients with DF were randomly rolled into the experimental group (composite skin graft) and control group (autologous skin graft) with 39 patients in each group. MRI scans were performed before and after treatment to compare the changes of experimental observation indicators such as healing time, recurrence rate, and scar score.

Systemic venous anomaly is less common clinically, and ectopic connection of inferior vena cava is less common clinically than ectopic connection of superior vena cava. Although long non-coding RNA (LncRNA) LINC00649 is reported to be closely associated with acute myeloid leukemia (AML), prostate cancer and colorectal cancer, its role in regulating other types of cancer, such as gastric cancer (GC), has not been studied. This study analyzed the expression status of LINC00649 in GC tissues and cells by performing Real-Time qPCR analysis, and we found that LINC00649 tended to be enriched in cancerous tissues and cells but not in their normal counterparts, which were supported by the data from TCGA dataset. Next, by performing the gain- and loss-of-function experiments, we expectedly found that LINC00649 acted as an oncogene to accelerate GC cell proliferation, migration and epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) and promote its tumorigenesis .
