Background: Understanding the etiology of psychosis is essential to the development of preventive interventions. The COVID-19 pandemic provides a rare natural experiment that can expand our understanding of the role of social factors in the trajectories and etiology of psychosis across adolescence, particularly in Tokyo where the prevalence of actual COVID-19 infection remained low. Pseudoendocrine sarcoma (PES) is a recently described neoplasm typically arising in paravertebral soft tissues. Histologically, PES resembles well-differentiated neuroendocrine tumors but lacks expression of epithelial/neuroendocrine markers, and most show aberrant nuclear β-catenin positivity. Phase-dependent plasticity has been proposed as a neurobiological mechanism by which oscillatory phase-amplitude cross-frequency coupling mediates memory process in the brain. Mimicking this mechanism, real-time EEG oscillatory phase-triggered transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) has successfully induced LTP-like changes in corticospinal excitability in the human motor cortex. Here we asked whether EEG phase-triggered afferent stimulation alone, if repetitively applied to the peaks, troughs, or random phases of the sensorimotor mu-alpha rhythm, would be sufficient to modulate the strength of thalamocortical synapses as assessed by changes in somatosensory evoked potential (SEP) N20 and P25 amplitudes and sensory thresholds (ST).

This study characterized mechanisms of Bacille Calmette-Guérin (BCG) revaccination-induced trained immunity (TI) in India. Purpose: Our study aimed to illustrate the positional relationship of the two branches of the saphenous nerve: the infrapatellar branch of the saphenous nerve (IPBSN) and medial crural cutaneous nerve (MCCN), as well as the anatomical landmarks using high-resolution ultrasound (HRUS) to help prevent iatrogenic nerve injury.

Methods: We used HRUS to explore the positional relationships among the anatomical landmarks, IPBSN, and MCCN in 40 knees of 20 participants. The distances from these branches to key reference points were recorded.

Background: SARS- CoV-2 virus has had dramatic consequences worldwide being able to cause acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), massive thrombosis and pulmonary embolism and, finally, patients' death. In COVID-19 infection, platelets have a procoagulant phenotype that can cause thrombosis in the pulmonary and systemic vascular network. Aspirin is a well-known anti-platelet drug widely used for the prevention of cardiovascular events and systematic reviews suggest a possible benefit of low-dose aspirin (LDA) use in the prevention and treatment of ARDS in patients with COVID-19 infection.
