The study aimed to investigate whether a 3D printed beta-tricalcium phosphate (β-TCP) scaffold tethered with growth factors and fibrin glue implanted autologous bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells would provide a 3D platform for bone regeneration resulting in new bone formation with plasticity. Twenty 3D printed β-TCP scaffolds, ten scaffolds engrained with osteogenic mesenchymal stem cells with fibrin glue (group A), and ten scaffolds used as a control group with β-TCP scaffold and fibrin glue inoculation only (group B) were included in the study. Cell infiltration, migration, and proliferation of human osteogenic stem cells on the scaffolds were executed under both static and dynamic culture conditions.

Speech is one of the oldest media of communication of thoughts. It has affected human behavior and progress so greatly that it has been one of the important determinants of psychosocial health of the human beings. The dental profession, as a guardian of oral health, is engaged to a great extent in altering and restoring structures within the oral cavity, to alleviate the ravages of disease and developmental abnormalities.

Aims: To estimate the serum fucose levels in clinically and histopathologically diagnosed oral cancer, oral leukoplakia, and oral submucous fibrosis cases. To compare and correlate the severity of dysplasia or histopathological grading of the premalignant and malignant lesions with serum fucose levels.
Objective: To determine the role of serum fucose as a reliable biomarker for early detection of malignant transformation of potentially malignant lesions and conditions and prediction of biologic behavior of the malignant lesions.

A specific liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-ESI-MS/MS) assay was developed and validated for simultaneous determination of two active metabolites of isosorbide dinitrate (ISDN), namely, isosorbide 2-mononitrate (IS 2-MN) and isosorbide 5-mononitrate (IS 5-MN). A simple protein precipitation extraction technique was employed using C isosorbide 5-mononitrate as the internal standard. The two isomers were separated on a chiral column and mass detection was carried out by electrospray ionization (ESI) in negative multiple reaction monitoring (MRM) mode (ESI -ve).

Aim: The aim of present study was to assess the role of E-cadherin in oral carcinogenesis by comparing their expressions in normal oral mucosa, oral epithelial dysplasia (OED), and oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC).
Materials And Methods: To elucidate the pattern of E-cadherin expression in oral carcinogenesis, 21 archival cases of formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded sections of OSCC, 21 OED, and 7 normal oral mucosa samples as control were used for the study.
Results: We observed reduction/loss of E-cadherin in membranous expression pattern and staining intensity with progression from dysplasia to oral cancer.

Introduction: Autism is a neuro-developmental disorder which is manifested as impairment of social interaction, communication and a repetitive behaviour. Autism can obscure dental treatment for the affected patients; furthermore, children with autism commonly have destructive oral habits.
Aim: The aims of this study were to evaluate the Modified Gingival Index (MGI), Plaque Index (PI), salivary pH and buffering capacity of the saliva among autistic children compared to normal children in Riyadh City that may provide baseline data to enable comparison and future planning of dental services for autistic children.

Background: Although Candida albicans remains the most common cause of human candidiasis, the frequency of infection attributed to other members of the genus is also increasing. Hence, the present study was carried out to know the prevalence of opportunistic candidal infection in tuberculosis, and if positive, the species of Candida that is most commonly associated.
Materials And Methods: The present study comprised sixty pulmonary tuberculosis patients who were divided into (1) fresh or untreated group, (2A) chronic or treated group having no complications and (2B) having complications, comprising twenty patients each, respectively.

Laser capture microdissection (LCM) is a high-end research and diagnostic technology that helps in obtaining pure cell populations for the purpose of cell- or lesion-specific genomic and proteomic analysis. Literature search on the application of LCM in oral tissues was made through PubMed. There is ample evidence to substantiate the utility of LCM in understanding the underlying molecular mechanism involving an array of oral physiological and pathological processes, including odontogenesis, taste perception, eruptive tooth movement, oral microbes, and cancers of the mouth and jaw tumors.

Chronic inflammation is associated with cancer development. C-reactive protein (CRP), an acute phase protein synthesized primarily in the liver, is a marker for inflammation and for the progression of many cancers. We compared serum and salivary CRP levels in 20 normal individuals, 20 patients with oral premalignant lesions and 20 patients with oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) to assess its efficacy as a prognostic indicator for OSCC.

Background: Enzyme Lactate Dehydrogenase (LDH) is found in the cells of almost all body tissues. The profile of salivary total LDH enzymes is similar to that found in oral epithelium, indicating that the major source of salivary LDH is probably the oral epithelium-shedding cells. Consequently, LDH concentration in saliva, as an expression of cellular necrosis, could be a specific indicator for oral lesions that affect the integrity of the oral mucosa.

The role of nitric oxide (NO) in the initiation, promotion and progression of cancer has been the subject of speculation and conflicting reports in the literature. The high incidence of oral cancer and precancer has been linked to tobacco chewing and smoking habits; NO is considered an indicator of tobacco-related diseases. We compared salivary NO levels in oral precancer and normal patients.
