Hepatic carcinoma, one of the most malignant cancers in the world, has limited success with immunotherapy and a poor prognosis in patients. While pyroptosis is considered as a promising immunotherapy strategy for tumors, it still suffers from a lack of effective inducers. We designed, synthesized and screened an indole analogue, , featuring a 2, 4-thiazolidinedione substituted indole scaffold.

The EGFR-driven angiogenesis is crucial in solid tumors, particularly through the delivery of biomolecules via extracellular vesicles (EVs), but the mechanism by which EGFR regulates EV cargo is still unclear. First, cell co-culture and murine tumor models were employed to examine the impact of EGFR overexpression on the pro-angiogenic properties of small EVs (sEVs) derived from oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC). Small RNA sequencing was then used to compare the miRNA profiles of OSCC-sEVs with and without EGFR overexpression, followed by functional enrichment and motif analyses of the differentially expressed miRNAs.

Minimal change disease (MCD) accounts for 10 - 15% of idiopathic nephrotic syndromes in adults. Chronic hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection is rarely ascribed as a cause of MCD and was previously associated with interferon-based therapy. MCD in treatment-naïve chronic HCV infection is extremely rare, with only 3 cases reported in the literature.

The cooling procedure markedly diminishes the quality of guinea pig () sperms, primarily because their membranes are highly susceptible to this process. This susceptibility triggers the generation of reactive oxygen species and free radicals, ultimately leading to lipid peroxidation in the sperm membrane. Surprisingly, there has been a lack of research on the use of Tris-based extenders to safeguard guinea pig sperm under refrigeration conditions.

Introduction: Although psychotic behaviors can be difficult to assess in children, early identification of children at high risk for the emergence of psychotic symptoms may facilitate the prevention of related disorders. Psychotic-like experiences (PLEs), or subthreshold thought and perceptual disturbances, could be early manifestations of psychosis that may predict a future diagnosis of a psychosis-related disorder or nonspecific correlates of a wide range of psychological problems. Additional research is needed regarding how PLEs map onto dimensions of psychopathology in children.

Background: Early interventions for young children with autism have been shown to enhance developmental outcomes. However, opportunities for targeted interventions in autism, both in care and preschool, are often lacking, particularly in immigrant communities. The early start denver model (ESDM) stands as one of the most well-established intervention models, including improvement in core developmental domains and reduction of maladaptive behaviours, also delivered in preschool settings.

Introduction: Many studies have documented the profound impact that the mother-child relationship has on child sociality and behavior. However, the biological mechanisms that govern the relationship are poorly understood. We developed a mother-child emotional preparation program (MCEP), based on a novel autonomic nervous system learning mechanism.

Background: In cuproptosis, excess copper ions induce cell death via fatty acylation in the tricarboxylic acid (TCA) cycle. However, the effects of cuproptosis-TCA-related long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) on the clinical prognosis of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and the associated tumor microenvironment remain unclear. The purpose of this study is to use cuproptosis-TCA related lncRNAs to predict the prognosis of NSCLC.

Background: Neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF-1), a rare autosomal dominant disorder, arises from gene mutations affecting neurofibromin, a Ras GTPase regulator. These mutations activate Ras proteins, triggering clinical symptoms such as skin spots, epilepsy, pain, and tumors. Although gastrointestinal stromal tumors are well-known in NF-1, diffuse intestinal ganglioneuromatosis remains an extremely rare complication.

Background: The clinical significance of human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2) low and HER2(0) expression in hormone receptor-positive (HR+) breast cancer patients remains uncertain. This study aimed to explore the clinical and pathological characteristics, prognosis, and endocrine therapy (ET) sensitivity among HR+ breast cancer patients with HER2 low and HER2(0) expression.
Methods: We conducted a retrospective analysis of 390 HR+, HER2-negative breast cancer patients who underwent radical surgery at The First Affiliated Hospital of Bengbu Medical University between December 2014 and December 2017.

Background: FOXF2, a member of the transcription factor FOX family proteins, plays a key role in tumorigenesis and tumor aggressiveness. However, the potential molecular mechanism of FOXF2 in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) remains largely unknown. Exploring its role and mechanism in ESCC progression may help identify new diagnostic markers and therapeutic targets.

Fascioliosis is a food-borne zoonotic helminth infection caused by flatworms belonging to the family Fasciolidae, primarily affecting ruminants. The chronic form of fascioliosis is the most prevalent and is characterized by anemia, weight loss, cirrhosis, and liver dysfunction, along with atrophy, jaundice, and bottle jaw. In humans, infection results in fever, nausea, skin rashes, and severe abdominal pain.

The development and characterization of quaternary phosphonium compounds (QPCs) have long benefitted from their incorporation into a cornerstone reaction in organic synthesis - the Wittig reaction. These structures have, more recently, been developed into a wide variety of novel applications, ranging from phase transfer catalysis to mitochondrial targeting. Importantly, their antimicrobial action has demonstrated great promise against a wide variety of bacteria.

Creatine (Cr) is recognized for its role in enhancing cognitive functions through the phosphocreatine (pCr)-creatine kinase system involved in brain energy homeostasis. It is reversibly converted into pCr by creatine kinase (CK). A brain-specific isoform of CK, known as CK-BB, is implicated in the brain's energy metabolism.

Purpose: Omicron is a variant with the highest number of mutations among all Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2) viruses, making whole genome sequencing (WGS) an essential tool for public health surveillance and molecular epidemiology. It is important to note that surveillance data can provide insights into the virus evolution and disease control. This study aims to provide an overview of WGS results for the SARS-CoV-2 Omicron Variant at Hasan Sadikin General Hospital Bandung.
