As an enzyme that plays an important role in DNA repair, poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase-1 (PARP-1) has become a popular target for cancer therapy. Nuclear medicine molecular imaging technology, supplemented by radiolabeled PARP-1 inhibitors, can accurately determine the expression level of PARP-1 at lesion sites to help patients choose an appropriate treatment plan. In this work, niraparib was modified with a hydrazinonicotinamide (HYNIC) group to generate the ligand NPBHYNIC, which has an affinity (IC) of 450.

Porphyrins bearing the unique 18π electron tetrapyrrolic macrocycles exhibit interesting photophysical and photochemical properties and have been considered as promising ligands for the construction of functionalized metal-organic frameworks (MOFs). The combination of porphyrin-type ligands with lanthanide metals featured with diverse coordination environments to realize the novel functions as well as the diversity of the MOF is thus attractive but challenging. Herein, an unprecedented porphyrin-based samarium MOF (Sm-BCPP) composed of a 5,10-bis(4-carboxyphenyl)-10,20-diphenyl porphyrin (HBCPP) ligand and samarium-formed one-dimensional clusters has been constructed via a solvothermal approach, and the synthesized Sm-BCPP has excellent chemical stabilities, exhibiting red luminescence.

Region-specific RNA modifications are crucial for advancing RNA research and therapeutics, including messenger RNA (mRNA)-based vaccines and immunotherapy. However, the predominant method, synthesizing regionally modified mRNAs with short single-stranded DNA (ssDNA) splints, encounters challenges in ligating long mRNA fragments due to the formation of RNA self-folded complex structures. To address this issue, we developed an efficient strategy using an easily obtained long double-stranded DNA (dsDNA) as a ligation splint after in situ denaturing, while parts of this dsDNA are the templates for transcribing mRNA fragments.

Human hearing cannot sensitively detect sounds below 100 Hz, which can affect the physical well-being and lead to dizziness, headaches, and nausea. Piezoelectric acoustic sensors still lack sensitivity to low-frequency sounds owing to the low piezoelectric coefficient or high elastic modulus of materials. The low elastic modulus and substantial piezoelectric coefficient of molecular ferroelectric materials make them excellent candidates for acoustic sensors.

Sulfur hexafluoride (SF), widely used in electric power systems, is one of the most potent greenhouse gases. Efficient separation of SF/N by adsorptive separation technology based on porous materials is of great significance in the industry yet remains a daunting challenge. Herein, a novel strategy is introduced to construct unique pore channels with multiple SF nano-traps by precisely selecting bipyrazole ligands to design the nonpolar surface of microporous metal-organic frameworks (MOFs), which significantly enhances the material's affinity for SF.

Direct understanding of the formation and crystallization of low-dimensional (LD) perovskites with varying dimensionalities employing the same bulky cations can offer insights into LD perovskites and their heterostructures with 3D perovskites. In this study, the secondary amine cation of N-methyl-1-(naphthalen-1-yl)methylammonium (M-NMA) and the formation dynamics of its corresponding LD perovskite are investigated. The intermolecular π-π stacking of M-NMA and their connection with inorganic PbI octahedrons within the product structures control the formation of LD perovskite.

Resonance frequency (RF) is characterized as the specific frequency at which a system, equipped with delayed self-correction or negative feedback mechanisms, exhibits maximal amplitude oscillations in response to an external stimulus of a particular frequency. Emerging evidence suggests that the cardiovascular system has an inherent RF, and that breathing at this frequency can markedly enhance health and cardiovascular function. However, the efficacy of resonance frequency breathing (RFB) and the specific responses of the cardiovascular, respiratory, and central nervous systems during RFB remain unclear.

The present study aimed to determine the potential of carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA), alpha-fetoprotein (AFP), carbohydrate antigen (CA)19-9 and CA242 in predicting recurrence/metastasis of gastric cancer in patients following radical gastrectomy. The clinical data of 368 patients with stage I-III gastric cancer who underwent radical gastrectomy were analyzed, and CEA, AFP, CA19-9 and CA242 levels were detected prior to surgery and 6-12 months following surgery. Univariate and multivariate analyses were used to evaluate the potential risk factors for post-operative recurrence/metastasis of gastric cancer, and the predictive value of CEA, AFP, CA19-9 and CA242 levels was evaluated using receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve and area under the curve (AUC).
