High expression of drug efflux pump makes antibiotics ineffective against bacteria, leading to drug-resistant strains and even the emergence of "superbugs". Herein, we design and synthesize a dual functional o-nitrobenzene (NB)-modified conjugated oligo-polyfluorene vinylene (OPFV) photosensitizer, OPFV-NB, which can depress efflux pump activity and also possesses photodynamic therapy (PDT) for synergistically overcoming drug-resistant bacteria. Upon light irradiation, the OPFV-NB can produce aldehyde active groups to covalently bind outer membrane proteins, such as tolerant colicin (TolC), blocking drug efflux of bacteria.

The assembly of peptides is generally mediated by liquid-liquid phase separation, which enables control over assembly kinetics, final structure, and functions of peptide-based supramolecular materials. Modulating phase separation can alter the assembly kinetics of peptides by changing solvents or introducing external fields. Based on the previous studies on the impact of traditional culture on tourists' purchasing intentions, this study aims to further explore the mechanism and boundary conditions regarding the traditional cultural load in tourist souvenir packaging. Through seven simulated experiments (N = 3203), the impact of different degrees of traditional cultural load on tourists' purchasing intentions has been examined, with value perception, cultural identity, and purchase purpose, advancing the research in the field of traditional culture and tourism marketing. The findings provide insights for managers in the industry of tourism and souvenir marketing for their package design.

The Pd-catalyzed multicomponent tandem reaction of β-ketonitriles, arylboronic acids and DMSO was efficiently developed, enabling access to a variety of poly substituted pyridines. The protocol shows excellent chemoselectivity, generating nicotinonitriles or symmetrical tetrasubstituted pyridines under different conditions by tandem cyclization of enaminone intermediates with β-ketonitriles or enolates, respectively, and does not require extra ammonias. This method boasts notable advantages, such as the use of commercially available or easily prepared substrates, simple conditions, a broad substrate scope, and good functional group tolerance.

The fusion expression of deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) replication-related proteins with nucleotide deaminase enzymes promotes random mutations in bacterial genomes, thereby increasing genetic diversity among the population. Most previous studies have focused on cytosine deaminase, which produces only C → T mutations, significantly limiting the variety of mutation types. In this study, we developed a fusion expression system by combining DnaG (RNA primase) with adenine deaminase TadA-8e (DnaG-TadA) in , which is capable of rapidly introducing A → G mutations into the genome, resulting in a 664-fold increase in terms of mutation rate.

Understanding the oxygen evolution reaction (OER) mechanism is pivotal for improving the overall efficiency of water electrolysis. Despite methylammonium lead halide perovskites (MAPbX) have shown promising OER performance due to their soft-lattice nature that allows lattice-oxygen oxidation of active α-PbO layer surface, the role of A-site MA or X-site elements in the electrochemical reconstruction and OER mechanisms has yet to be explored. Here, it is demonstrated that the OER mechanism of perovskite@zeolite composites is intrinsically dominated by the A-site group of lead-halide perovskites, while the type of X-site halogen is crucial for the reconstruction kinetics of the composites.
