Roma represent one of the largest ethnic groups facing marginalization worldwide. However, significant knowledge gaps persist regarding: A) the social mechanisms supporting health-endangering practices among Roma; B) the social mechanisms adversely affecting their use of health services; and C) the social determinants underlying both above pathways. To fill these gaps, we conducted a series of four explorative ethnographic studies spanning over ten years.

Blending carbon particles (CPs) and nanoscale bioactive cerium dioxide is a promising approach for designing composites for biomedical applications, combining the sorption and antioxidant potentials of each individual component. To address this issue, it is crucial to assess the correlation between the components' ratio, physicochemical parameters, and biofunctionality of the composites. Thus, the current research was aimed at fabricating C@CeO composites with different molar ratios and the examination of how the parameters of the composites affect their bioactivity.

In quasi-one-dimensional circularly symmetric systems of active particles, experiments and simulations reveal an indirect interplay between particles and environmental drag effects, proving crucial in the realm of generalized parametrically controlled stigmergy. Our investigation goes deeper into understanding how stigmergy manifests itself, closely examining unconventional, more physically grounded interpretations in contrast to established concepts. Deeper insights into the complex dynamics of stigmergically interacting particle systems are gained by systematically studying the transition regions between short- and long-term stigmergic effects.

Flavin adenine dinucleotide (FAD) and flavin mononucleotide (FMN) are frequently used interchangeably in the catalysis of various reactions as part of flavoenzymes because they have the same functional component, the isoalloxazine ring. However, they differ significantly in their conformational properties. The inclusion of two planar rings in the structure of FAD greatly increases the range of possible conformations compared to FMN.

A characteristic feature of uterine pathologies is a specific change in cell metabolism, which predominantly manifests as a shift in the need for nutrients, thereby directing cells to engage in different angiogenic marker activities. Angiogenesis is one of the main signals supporting the survival and development of cells and tissues not only under physiological conditions. Therefore, it is necessary that we understand pathological hyperactivation in all uterine diseases, from endometriosis through ovarian endometrioid adenocarcinoma to malignant transformed cells of the uterine epithelium and body.

A mononuclear cobalt(ii) complex [CHN][CoCl(CHN)] (I) was synthesized and structurally characterized. Single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis indicates that monometallic Co(ii) ions acted as coordination nodes in a distorted octahedral geometry, giving rise to a supramolecular architecture. The latter is made up of a ½ unit form composed of an anionic element [CoCl(CHN)] and one 2-amino-4-methylpyrimidinium cation [CHN].

Two bidentate ligands (L1 = 1-pentyl-2-(pyridin-2-yl)-1-benzimidazole and L2 = 1-heptyl-2-(pyridin-2-yl)-1-benzimidazole) were employed for the synthesis of five mononuclear Fe(II) coordination compounds 1-5 containing perchlorate, tetrafluoroborate and triflate counterions. Single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis confirmed the expected molecular structures of all the reported compounds, revealing a moderately distorted octahedral geometry of {FeN} coordination chromophores. All five compounds exhibit thermal spin crossover with temperatures allocated above 400 K.

Background: Endovascular treatment (EVT) of tandem lesion (TL) in the anterior circulation acute ischemic stroke (IS) usually requires periprocedural antithrombotic treatment and early initiation of dual antiplatelet therapy (DAPT) after carotid stenting. However, it may contribute to an occurrence of symptomatic intracerebral hemorrhage (SICH) in some cases. We investigated factors influencing the SICH occurrence and assessed the possible predictors of SICH after EVT.
