Introduction There is constant debate regarding the best surgical technique for the fixation of shaft humerus fractures. Intramedullary nailing and dynamic compression plating are the most popular surgical options. Materials and methods In our study, we retrospectively analyze the results of 27 patients with shaft humerus fractures managed with intramedullary nailing (10) and dynamic compression plating (17) at our institute from September 2021 to October 2022.

Plasmablastic transformation of a double hit follicular lymphoma: An emerging entity.

Plasmablastic transformation of follicular lymphoma is very rare and has been reported in only 5 cases till date. We report a case of simultaneous identification of extranodal, soft tissue plasmablastic lymphoma in the ankle and bone marrow involvement by follicular lymphoma. This unusual case presentation is a challenge for the treating physician with the patient becoming resistant to chemotherapy and succumbing to the disease within a few months of diagnosis.

Objective: When considering traumatic brachial plexus and upper extremity nerve injuries, iatrogenic nerve injuries, and nontraumatic nerve injuries, brachial plexus and upper extremity nerve injuries are commonly encountered in clinical practice. Despite this, data synthesis and comparison of available studies are difficult. This is at least in part due to the lack of standardization in reporting and a lack of a core outcome set (COS).

Our previously reported study on epigenome-wide microarray analysis showed significantly methylated CpG sites. Top 5 significant CpGs from HLA gene were selected and analysed by Pyrosequencing (PSQ) to determine their association with severity of CAD.

A review of safety and immunogenicity of a novel measles, mumps, rubella (MMR) vaccine.

Measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR) are highly infectious viral diseases affecting young children and have high secondary attack rates. Present MMR vaccines show consistent seroconversion rates for anti-measles and anti-rubella antibodies with variable responses for anti-mumps antibodies. Most common strains for MMR vaccines, currently available in India, are the Edmonston-Zagreb measles strain, Leningrad Zagreb (L-Z) mumps strain, and the RA 27/3 rubella strain.

Repurposing pantoprazole in combination with systemic therapy in advanced head and neck squamous cell carcinoma: a phase I/II randomized study.

Self-reported food intolerances in an Indian population: Need for individualization rather than a universal low-FODMAP diet.

Background And Aim: Low-fermentable oligo-, di-, and monosaccharides and polyol (FODMAP) diets have been recommended for individuals with food intolerance and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). Individual food intolerances may, however, not correspond to the FODMAP content alone.

Methods: We conducted a survey on self-reported intolerance to articles of food commonly identified as high FODMAP in 400 healthy Indian subjects (median age 40 years; 69% men) and 204 consecutive consenting patients with IBS (median age 36 years; 58% men).

Purpose: Elastography is a real-time non-invasive ultrasonography modality wherein the tissue stiffness is evaluated by calculating the degree of tissue distortion in response to an external force. This study was undertaken to assess the diagnostic value of elastography in differentiating benign from malignant thyroid nodules.

Methodology: In this prospective comparative study, a total of 52 thyroid nodules from 44 euthyroid patients undergoing fine needle aspiration cytology were assessed.

Petroclival meningiomas (PCMs) are complex skull-base tumors that continue to pose a formidable surgical challenge to neurosurgeons because of their deep-seated location/intimate relationship with the brainstem and neurovascular structures. The advent of stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS), along with the shifting of management goals from complete radiological cure to maximal preservation of the patient's quality of life (QOL), has further cluttered the topic of "optimal management" in PCMs. Not all patients with PCM need treatment ("watchful waiting").

Evaluation of adherence with lung-protective ventilator strategies in moderate-to-severe acute respiratory distress syndrome in a tertiary care setup in India: A prospective observational study.

Background: Evaluation of the efficacy and safety of mechanical ventilation settings is a cornerstone of the early phase of the management of acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS). This study aimed to evaluate the adherence to currently recommended lung-protective ventilator strategies (tidal volume, plateau pressure, driving pressure, prone positioning, and positive end-expiratory pressure [PEEP]) for adults with moderate-to-severe ARDS in a tertiary care setup, thereby evaluating if lung-protective ventilation is associated with improved outcomes.

Methods: This was an observational study over 1 year in ventilated moderate-to-severe ARDS participants.
