Background: Evidence supports therapeutic drug monitoring (TDM) in improving efficacy and cost-effectiveness of anti-TNF therapy in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). Data on perceptions and barriers to TDM use are limited and no data are available from India. Our objective was to assess clinicians' attitudes and barriers to TDM use in IBD.

Aim: To highlight radiological features and emphasize the need for tissue diagnoses to confirm bone pathology. Tuberculosis is known to present without constitutional symptoms and with unconventional imaging features mimicking sarcomas as shown in our series of 25 patients; where the imaging and biopsy protocols at our institute helped to solve these diagnostic dilemmas.
Material And Methods: We retrospectively analyzed clinical and radiological features and tissue diagnoses in 25 patients referred to the department of orthopedic oncology with radiological suspicion of tumor.

Werner syndrome (WS), also known as adult progeria, is extremely rare, with about 1300 known cases in the world, with over 1000 of these in Japan. It occurs due to loss of function mutations in the WRN gene located on chromosome 8p12. WS is characterized by premature aging and increased risk of neoplasms, with meningiomas being the commonest intracranial tumor.

Objective: The aim of this study is to evaluate the prognostic significance of 18-fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG) positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET-CT) scan-derived total metabolic tumor volume (MTV) and total lesion glycolysis (TLG) in diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) patients with only nodal involvement.
Methods: Twenty-five (age range: 22-82 years) biopsy-proven patients of DLBCL with only nodal involvement who underwent staging FDG PET-CT scan were included in this study. Whole-body PET-CT performed at staging and PET-derived metabolic parameters, namely MTV and TLG of all FDG-avid lesions, were calculated for each patient.

Background And Aim: Diarrhea in kidney transplant recipients influences outcome of transplantation. Data from India in this regard are sparse and do not address the differential outcome of infective and non-infective diarrhea. We studied the demographic data, laboratory findings, treatment response, disease duration, and outcome of diarrhea in kidney transplant recipients, and the differential outcome between infective and non-infective diarrhea, if any.

Introduction: To evaluate whether metabolic tumour volume (MTV) can be used as a prognostic indicator in patients with diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL).
Materials And Methods: Eighty-nine patients with DLBCL who underwent staging fluorodeoxyglucose PET-computed tomography (FDG PET-CT) scan were included in this study and followed up, up to a period of 5 years. Whole-body PET-CT was performed at staging and the total MTV of all FDG avid lesions was calculated for each patient at a threshold of 42% of SUVmax.

Introduction: Antimicrobial-resistant HAI (Healthcare associated infection) are a global challenge due to their impact on patient outcome. Implementation of antimicrobial stewardship programmes (AMSP) is needed at institutional and national levels. Assessment of core capacities for AMSP is an important starting point to initiate nationwide AMSP.

Background: Total Knee Arthroplasty (TKA) is one of the most effective treatment modalities for chronic knee pain and disability. A strong association exists between obesity and early knee osteoarthritis. Various studies on outcomes of TKA in obese patients have been inconclusive.

Introduction: The use of closed-suction drainage systems after total knee arthroplasty (TKA) is common practice in India, but with no consensus on its use. In this retrospective study, we compared whether clamped or unclamped drainage has any advantages over the other in unilateral TKA.
Methods: Group-A (n = 351) had an unclamped drain removed at 24 h postoperative, with measurement of total drainage at 24 h between January 2011 and February 2013.

Background: Patients undergoing Total Knee Arthroplasty (TKA) typically have early postoperative pain and decreased mobility, especially so in the first 24 h. Achieving a pain free knee in the immediate postoperative period and reducing complications using multimodal pain and blood management protocols forms a keystone in early mobilization and functional recovery. Enhanced Recovery after Surgery pathways (ERASp) since their inception, have significantly improved perioperative care and functional outcomes, thereby reducing the average length of stay (ALOS), complications and overall healthcare costs.

Background: Uncemented press-fit acetabular cups without screws rely on the elastic recoil of the bone for its primary stability and tend to leave polar gaps with its use. The clinical significance of these gaps and the functional outcome of the patients with polar gaps is evaluated in this study.
Methods: This comparative analysis was done on 224 cementless primary THA using Deltamotion® Hip System from January 2010 to December 2017.

Background: We here report the demographic and clinical profile of the patients enrolled in the Indian Council of Medical Research funded Registry of people with diabetes in India with young age at onset (YDR) from 1 January 2000 to 31 July 2011.
Methods: The YDR registry recruits all diabetes cases (newly diagnosed or treated) reporting on or after 1 January 2000 with age of diagnosis ≤25 years, and residing within the assigned geographical area of the reporting centres. A baseline proforma was used to obtain information on demographic and clinical details at registration.

Justification: Children with cancer need to be immunized against the common vaccine-preventable diseases after completion and sometimes during ongoing treatment of cancer. However, the immunization schedule for these children needs to be altered due to disease and treatment related immune-suppression. Consequently, there are many guidelines/practice statements from around the world to address this issue, however, there is no such comprehensive guideline from India catering to the need of Indian children with cancer.

The Indian Society of Gastroenterology developed this evidence-based practice guideline for management of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) in adults. A modified Delphi process was used to develop this consensus containing 58 statements, which were generated by electronic voting iteration as well as face-to-face meeting and review of the supporting literature primarily from India. These statements include 10 on epidemiology, 8 on clinical presentation, 10 on investigations, 23 on treatment (including medical, endoscopic, and surgical modalities), and 7 on complications of GERD.

The development and rollout of the Xpert Mycobacterium tuberculosis/rifampicin assay for the GeneXpert platform is considered an important breakthrough in the fight against tuberculosis. Xpert though robust is known to have issues that occur with very low load of tuberculosis detection, wherein it is recommended to confirm resistance if resistance is not suspected using another genotypic test.

Problem: DNA methylation profile in mid-secretory phase of endometrium is reported to be varied from other phases in natural menstrual cycle. Therefore, we intended to study the impairment in endometrial receptivity by performing whole-genome methylation and gene expression profiling in endometrium of recurrent implantation failure patients (RIF) during IVF under controlled ovarian stimulation (COS).
Method Of Study: Endometrial biopsies were collected from IVF-RIF patients (cases, n = 6) and healthy fertile oocyte donors (controls, n = 6) undergoing COS after 6/7th day of human chorionic gonadotropin administration.
