Purpose: To utilize 4 D flow MRI to acquire normal values of "conventional 2 D flow MRI parameters" in healthy volunteers in order to replace multiple single 2 D flow measurements with a single 4 D flow acquisition.
Materials And Methods: A kt-GRAPPA accelerated 4 D flow sequence was used. Flow volumes were assessed by forward (FFV), backward (BFV), and net flow volumes (NFV) [ml/heartbeat] and flow velocities by axial (VAX) and absolute velocity (VABS) [m/s] in 116 volunteers (58 females, 43 ± 13 years).

Introduction: Vosoritide is the first precision medical therapy approved to increase growth velocity in children with achondroplasia. Sharing early prescribing experiences across different regions could provide a framework for developing practical guidance for the real-world use of vosoritide.
Methods: Two meetings were held to gather insight and early experience from experts in Europe, the Middle East, and the USA.

Background: Statutory skin cancer screening (gHKS) can counteract severe courses of various types of skin cancer. The example of malignant melanoma shows that screening is important for older adults in view of the average age of onset of this disease: 62 (women) and 68 years (men). For Saxony-Anhalt (ST), as a state particularly affected by demographic change, little gHKS data are available regarding its usage.

(heterotypic synonym: "") is a facultative anaerobic, newly described Gram-negative rod and belongs to the Yersineacea family. Here, we report the case of a 19-month-old female infant patient who presented to the emergency unit with somnolence and fever. was isolated from a positive blood culture, taken via an implanted Broviac catheter, proving a bloodstream infection by the pathogen.

Total arthroplasty of the ankle joint (TAA) has become an established treatment option for patients with advanced osteoarthritis of the ankle joint. A crucial factor for good long-term clinical results and standing times is careful patient selection, taking the indications, contraindications, and defined prognostic factors into account. Despite modern prosthetic designs, TAA remains a complex surgical procedure that requires precise surgical techniques in a specialized center.

Objective: The aim of this study was to give an overview of the content, procedure and diagnostic methods used for the school entrance examination (SEE) in Germany. The focus was on the general implementation of the SEE and the developmental screening methods in the individual federal states of Germany.
Method: A total of 183 employees from the public health authorities from 15 different states took part in an online survey.

Ultrasound-guided ablation techniques have been increasingly introduced into routine treatment of thyroid lesions as a complement to existing surgical therapies and radioiodine treatment. In cystic or predominantly cystic lesions instillation therapy (ethanol/polidocanol ablation) has yielded good results. Novel thermal ablation techniques, including radiofrequency ablation (RFA), microwave ablation (MWA), laser ablation (LA) and high intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU), induce irreversible cellular effects by locally applying temperatures ≥ 60 °C to the targeted thyroid region.

Ketamine is a rapid-acting antidepressant that also influences neural reactivity to affective stimuli. However, the effect of ketamine on behavioral affective reactivity is yet to be elucidated. The affect-modulated startle reflex paradigm (AMSR) allows examining the valence-specific aspects of behavioral affective reactivity.

(1) Background: As the worldwide aging population is growing, there is a need to embrace the role of physical activity in the anxiety of older people. Objectives: To analyze anxiety in older people practitioners and non-practitioners of physical activity; (2) Methods: ample composed of 690 older people of both genders, unselected volunteers, residing in Brazil, present (as participants or observers) in selected street races in the state of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, between 30 October 2019, and 12 March 2020. We investigate the amplitude modulation of acoustic waves in accelerating flows, a problem that is still not fully understood, but essential to many technical applications, ranging from medical imaging to acoustic remote sensing. The proposed modeling framework is based on a convective form of the Kuznetsov equation, which incorporates the background flow field and is solved numerically by a finite-difference method. Using acoustic black and white hole analogues as model systems, we identify a modulation of the wave amplitude which is shown to be driven by the divergence/convergence of the acoustic wave characteristics in an accelerating/decelerating flow, and which is distinct from the convective amplification accompanying an acoustic emitter moving at a constant velocity.

The School Entrance Examination (SEE) provides important information about the educational needs of pre-school children and for health reporting. The SEE should reflect the latest scientific knowledge and generate high-quality data. To do this, it must meet scientific quality criteria and be continuously evaluated and further developed.

Foramen magnum stenosis is a serious, and potentially life-threatening complication of achondroplasia. The foramen magnum is smaller in infants with achondroplasia, compared with the general population, and both restricted growth in the first 2 years and premature closure of skull plate synchondroses can contribute to narrowing. Narrowing of the foramen magnum can lead to compression of the brainstem and spinal cord, and result in sleep apnoea and sudden death.

A bold vision in nanofabrication is the assembly of functional molecular structures using a scanning probe microscope (SPM). This approach requires continuous monitoring of the molecular configuration during manipulation. Until now, this has been impossible because the SPM tip cannot simultaneously act as an actuator and an imaging probe.

Background: In the context of blunt abdominal trauma, injuries to the urinary tracts often occur, especially in polytrauma patients. Urotrauma is rarely immediately life-threatening but can lead to serious complications and chronic functional limitations during treatment. Therefore early urological involvement is crucial for adequate interdisciplinary treatment.

Background: Sunburn can increase one's risk of developing skin cancer. We aimed to quantify the prevalence of sunburn during recreational outdoor sport (ROS) in summer, to explore the use of different sun protection measures, and to examine factors associated with sunburn during ROS using a population-based sample from Germany.
Methods: For this cross-sectional study, 2081 individuals aged 16-65 years who reported being engaged in ROS in summer were surveyed via standardized telephone interviews in 2020 (National Cancer Aid Monitoring, NCAM).

In recent times, emerging contaminants (ECs) like pharmaceuticals and personal care products (PPCPs) in water and wastewater have become a major concern in the environment. Electrochemical treatment technologies proved to be more efficient to degrade or remove PPCPs present in the wastewater. Electrochemical treatment technologies have been the subject of intense research for the past few years.

Background: Congenital anomalies (CAs) increase the risk of death during infancy and childhood. This study aimed to evaluate the accuracy of using death certificates to estimate the burden of CAs on mortality for children under 10 years old.
Methods: Children born alive with a major CA between 1 January 1995 and 31 December 2014, from 13 population-based European CA registries were linked to mortality records up to their 10th birthday or 31 December 2015, whichever was earlier.

Clinical/methodological Issue: Imaging of structures of internal organs often requires ionizing radiation, which is a health risk. Reducing the radiation dose can increase the image noise, which means that images provide less information.
Standard Radiological Methods: This problem is observed in commonly used medical imaging modalities such as computed tomography (CT), positron emission tomography (PET), single photon emission computed tomography (SPECT), angiography, fluoroscopy, and any modality that uses ionizing radiation for imaging.
