Background: As part of a larger study examining the effectiveness of the Maternal Newborn Dashboard, an electronic audit and feedback system to improve maternal-newborn care practices and outcomes, the purpose of this study was to increase our understanding of factors explaining variability in performance after implementation of the Dashboard in Ontario, Canada.

Methods: A collective case study. A maximum variation sampling approach was used to invite hospitals reflecting different criteria to participate in a 1-day to 2-day site visit by the research team.

Children with medical complexity (CMC) in rural and northern communities have more difficulty accessing subspecialty health providers than those in urban centres. This article describes an alignment cascade in which leaders engaged peers and staff to rapidly roll out the implementation of a sustainably designed complex care model, integrated in the Champlain Complex Care Program and delivered in Timmins, Ontario. The Provincial Council for Maternal and Child Health's Complex Care for Kids Ontario (CCKO) strategy supports the implementation and expansion of a hub-and-spoke model of interprofessional complex care for CMC and their families.

Background And Purpose: The Harris Infant Neuromotor Test (HINT) is a screening tool designed to identify neuromotor or cognitive/behavioral concerns in infants who are healthy or at high risk between the ages of 3 and 12 months. The purpose of this study was to determine whether the HINT could distinguish between infants at high risk and infants at low risk for neuromotor delays.

Psychosocial functioning following surgical treatment for intractable epilepsy in childhood.

Methods: Psychosocial functioning was examined in 13 children who had undergone surgical treatment for intractable epilepsy. The ratings of each child's social, emotional and behavioural problems were obtained via parent and teacher reports made an average of 2 years post-operatively.

Results: Parents viewed their children as having greater social difficulties than reported in standardisation samples.

The purpose of the study was to present and describe the process of translating an English standardized assessment into another language. Using the translation/validation methodologies described by Haccoun (1987) and Vallerand (1989), the Leisure Satisfaction Scale (LSS) was translated into French and then statistically validated.
