Carbon-based molecules are of universal importance for a huge variety of chemical and biological processes. The complication of the structure of such molecules proceeds via the bonding of carbon atoms. An efficient mechanism for such reactions proceeds via cross-coupling, related to the association of bond-terminating counter-ions.

Background: Clinicians make clinical decisions using the dual process theory. The dual process theory comprises two approaches, System 1, based on heuristics, and System 2, involving an analytical and effortful thought process. However, there are inherent limitations to the dual process theory, such as relying on inaccurate memory or misinterpreting cues leading to inappropriate clinical management.

The objective of this study was to understand gynecological cancer (GC) survivors' and their informal caregivers' perceptions about the usability of an educational resource to support their transition from primary cancer treatment into surveillance and/or recovery. After developing an empirical- and experiential-informed educational resource, we used a semi-structured questioning process to understand GC survivors and their caregivers' perceptions about its usability. Data were collected via online focus groups or 1:1 interviews that were audio recorded and transcribed.

Individuals with subclinical neck pain (SCNP) exhibit altered cerebellar processing, likely due to disordered sensorimotor integration of inaccurate proprioceptive input. This association between proprioceptive feedback and SMI has been captured in cervico-ocular reflex (COR) differences where SCNP showed higher gain than healthy participants. Previous neurophysiological research demonstrated improved cerebellar processing in SCNP participants following a single treatment session, but it is unknown whether these neurophysiological changes transfer to cerebellar function.

Technical skills are an integral part of the practice of medicine. Simulation-based education (SBE) is a widely employed approach that allows students to acquire these skills prior to practicing them in the clinical setting. To discuss the state of SBE and potential avenues to improving education and medical student experiences, this editorial will explore the lived experiences of junior medical students, the observations of a research graduate student's informal conversations, and an educational quality improvement (EQI) pilot conducted by students at a satellite medical campus.

Virtual reality (VR) technology has emerged as a promising tool to adopt certain elements of existing CG psychoeducation programs, such as the Reitman Centre CARERS (coaching, advocacy, respite, education, relationship, and simulation) program, which has been shown effective in reducing CG burden and stress and building the required skills for caring for PWD. Recently, we have developed a VR prototype utilizing Meta Quest 2 (Meta, Menlo Park, CA, USA), which will be referred to as the (virtual reality simulation for dementia CARERS) VR-SIM CARERS program.

Mixed reality technologies, such as virtual (VR) and augmented (AR) reality, present promising opportunities to advance education and professional training due to their adaptability to diverse contexts. Distortions in the perceived distance in such mediated conditions, however, are well documented and have imposed nontrivial challenges that complicate and limit transferring task performance in a virtual setting to the unmediated reality (UR). One potential source of the distance distortion is the vergence-accommodation conflict-the discrepancy between the depth specified by the eyes' accommodative state and the angle at which the eyes converge to fixate on a target.

Several known biomarkers have been used to understand the physiological responses of humans to various short and long-term interventions such as exercise or dietary interventions. However, little exploratory work has been conducted to identify novel biomarkers in human saliva that could enable non-invasive physiological research to understand acute responses to interventions such as reducing sedentary time. The purpose of this study was to identify novel biomarkers in the saliva (cytokines, growth factors and vascular factors) that respond to prolonged (4 hours) and interrupted sitting (4 hours of sitting interrupted by 3 minutes of walking at 60% of maximal heart rate every 27 minutes) in young, healthy males and females.
