Background: T-cell-redirecting therapies, such as bispecific antibodies and chimeric antigen receptor T-cells, exploit the cytotoxic capabilities of the immune system to destroy cells expressing specific surface antigens, including malignant cells. These therapies have demonstrated unprecedented rates, depth, and duration of responses in relapsed and refractory multiple myeloma. However, there are significant challenges in implementing these therapies into practice, which require multidisciplinary and multicenter coordination and significant healthcare resources to effectively manage these patients.

Objective: We identified factors associated with computed tomographic (CT) imaging within 24 hours of emergency department (ED) presentation in hospitalized children with severe orbital infections.

Patients And Methods: A multicenter retrospective cohort study was conducted that included children aged 2 months to 18 years between 2009 and 2018 who were admitted to the hospital with severe orbital infections, including periorbital and orbital cellulitis. Multivariable modified Poisson regression was used to identify possible factors associated with receiving a CT scan within 24 hours of ED presentation.

Background: Continuous waveform monitoring is standard-of-care for patients at risk for or with critically illness. Derived from waveforms, heart rate, respiratory rate and blood pressure variability contain useful diagnostic and prognostic information; and when combined with machine learning, can provide predictive indices relating to severity of illness and/or reduced physiologic reserve. Compared to physical unmediated reality (UR), mixed reality technologies, such as Virtual (VR) and Augmented (AR) Reality, entail perturbations across multiple sensory modalities (visual, haptic, etc.) that could alter how actors move within the different environments. Because of the mediated nature, goal-directed movements in VR and AR may rely on planning and control processes that are different from movements in UR, resulting in less efficient motor control.

Canadians consume excessive amounts of sodium, a leading risk factor for cardiovascular disease. In 2012, Health Canada released guidance outlining voluntary sodium reduction benchmarks for pre-packaged foods to be met by manufacturers by 2016. Using the University of Toronto's Food Label Information Program(FLIP), the aim of this study was to evaluate changes in average sodium content of Canadian pre-packaged foods from 2013 to 2017 and manufacturers' progress in meeting final phase III sodium reduction benchmark targets.

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to investigate the determinants of job retention intention among healthcare workers (HCWs) in Canada during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Design/methodology/approach: Data are from a large nationally representative cross-sectional survey conducted by the Canadian National Statistics Agency. Ordered logistic regression is estimated to find an association between job retention and its main determinants as gleaned from the literature while controlling for a wide range of pertinent covariates.

Background: The Canadian Chiropractic Association (CCA) initiated a quality improvement project to develop best practices aimed at enhancing the patient experience.

Objectives: (1) Identify and prioritise the key moments in the new patient experience that could be improved by providing chiropractors with focused support and resources; (2) explore views, barriers, and enablers to implementing these best practices; and (3) develop recommendations to facilitate the adoption of these practices.

Determining the time since deposition (TSD) of bloodstains is important to establish a timeline of bloodshed, while DNA profiling addresses identity (source attribution). Traditionally treated as separate processes, this study integrates TSD estimation into routine DNA profiling by analyzing typically discarded cell lysate (eluates) from spin-column-based DNA extractions. Fluorescence spectroscopy was used to analyze eluates from bloodstains deposited up to 99 weeks.

Background/objectives: Sensorimotor dysfunction is often reported in individuals experiencing neck pain, irrespective of severity and chronicity. The treatment of neck dysfunction has been found to positively impact sensorimotor integration (SMI), thereby improving sensorimotor function. However, no patient-reported outcome measure has been validated for discrimination between healthy individuals and neck pain patients with disordered SMI, nor has there been documentation of positive change in SMI following neck pain treatment.

Wastewater-based epidemiology (WBE) is regarded as a support tool for detecting and assessing the prevalence of infectious diseases at a population level. For rural, remote, and resource-constrained communities with little access to other public health monitoring tools, WBE can be a low-cost approach to filling gaps in population health knowledge to inform public health risk assessment and decision-making. This rapid review explores and discusses unique considerations of WBE in key settings, with a focus on the detection of the SARS-CoV-2 virus, which has rapidly expanded WBE infrastructure globally.

The Foodbot Factory serious game was developed to support school nutrition education based on Canada's Food Guide and Ontario curriculum.
