The vertebral foramen, lamina, and vertebral body are three critical components of the spine structure, essential for maintaining spinal connectivity and stability. Accurately segmenting lumbar structures such as the vertebral body, vertebral foramen, and lamina in MRI cross-sections helps doctors better understand and diagnose the pathological causes of spine-related diseases. This study presents a multi-structure semantic segmentation method for vertebral transverse section MRI slices using WGAN with a residual U-Net and clustered Transformer.

Purpose: In the total hip arthroplasty (THA), the optimal administration route of tranexamic acid (TXA) remains controversial. This study was designed to investigate the impact of topical injection of TXA on blood loss during primary unilateral THA as well as short-term safety and adverse side effects compared with intravenous administration of TXA.
Material And Methods: In this study, 75 patients who underwent unilateral THA were randomly divided into 3 groups receiving intra-articular TXA (IA group), intravenous TXA (IV group) or no TXA (control group C).
Thyroid hemiagenesis is a very rare abnormality, in which one thyroid lobe fails to develop. Most of the patients diagnosed have an associated thyroidal disease. The true prevalence of thyroid hemiagenesis is not known, but it is estimated to be 0.
