Role of Pre-operative Correction of Vitamin D3 Deficiency in Controlling Post-operative Bone Pain after Unicompartmental Knee Arthroplasty.

Introduction: Hypovitaminosis D plays an important role in post-operative bone pain and muscle strength in arthroplasty surgeries. Its role in unicompartmental knee arthroplasty (UKA) has not been elucidated yet. The objective of this study was to determine the impact of hypovitaminosis D and its correction on post-operative bone pain after UKA.

AMR Sign - An Arthroscopic S-shaped Fold Signifying Adequate Medial Meniscus Repair.

Introduction: The preferred management of medial meniscus tears has notably moved from meniscectomies towards repair. With a higher volume of meniscal repairs being done all across the world with every passing day, the lack of an objective and definitive sign suggesting the adequacy of its repair is daunting. The purpose of our study was to introduce a unique and novel arthroscopic sign formed after adequate repair of the medial meniscus, the AMR (Adequacy of Medial meniscus Repair) sign.

Management of a Rare Case of Cavernous Medullary Intraosseous Hemangioma in Proximal Tibia of a 38-year-old Female.

Introduction: Intraosseous hemangiomas (IH) are one of the rarest bone tumors that an orthopedic surgeon comes across, more so in the long bones. It most often affects adult females, severely blunting their activities of daily living, coupled with potential debilitating complications such as pathological fracture.

Introduction: Ochronotic arthropathy in patients with alkaptonuria is a rare hereditary disorder. The altered metabolism causes the homogentesic acid derivatives to deposit in various connective tissues causing characteristic pigmentation. Due to the close clinical resemblance to that of a degenerative disorder, diagnosis of ochronotic arthropathy usually occurs intraoperatively.

Modified Technique for Patellar Tendon Repair Post-Total Knee Arthroplasty: A Case Report.

Introduction: Rupture of patellar tendon following total knee arthroplasty (TKA) is a rare but disabling complication. Results of the primary repair of the patellar tendon after the TKA are associated with higher complication rates and a poor outcome. We report a rare case of traumatic patellar rupture, 5 years after the TKA managed using a primary repair with good post-operative outcome.
