Purpose: To identify molecular changes during PCa invasion of adipose space using Spatial Transcriptomic Profiling of PCa cells.
Methods: This study was performed on paired intraprostatic and extraprostatic samples obtained from radical prostatectomy with pT3a pathological stages.
Results: Differential gene expression revealed upregulation of heat shock protein genes: DNAJB1, HSPA8, HSP90AA1, HSPA1B, HSPA1A in PCa PanCK+ cells from the adipose periprostatic space.

Background: Despite vaccination, patients receiving anti-CD20 monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) for multiple sclerosis (MS) or neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorders (NMOSD) have an increased risk of developing severe or protracted COVID-19. The aim of this study was to describe the effect of COVID-19 convalescent plasma (CCP) in patients with MS or NMOSD exposed to anti-CD20 and infected by SARS-CoV-2.
Methods: This French national, retrospective cohort study was conducted between November 2020 and June 2023.

Introduction: Reflux recurrence after fundoplication remains poorly understood, prompting an investigation into factors associated with it.
Methods: A study was conducted to review patients who had primary fundoplication. The main focus was on identifying recurrent reflux confirmed by an abnormal DeMeester score of > 14.

The rationale for the current study is the sparsity of data on the combined effect of the environmental and individual risks of obesity and sedentary lifestyle in children of different races/ethnicities from different regions. An effective weight management strategy is hard to design due to insufficient evidence. This work was initiated to study race, ethnicity, and geography as determinants of excessive weight and low physical activity in the pediatric population.

Introduction: Obese patients represent a large proportion of patients experiencing recurrent reflux and re-operations after initial anti-reflux surgery. However, there is a limited data describing the impact of obesity on GERD recurrence following re-operative procedures.
Methods: A review of patients who underwent re-operative anti-reflux surgery (Re-ARS) between 2012 and 2023.

Objectives: Temporomandibular disorders (TMD) affect 10% of the population in France, significantly impacting patient's health and quality of life. The multifactorial etiology of TMD complicates its treatment. Consequently, adopting a multidisciplinary approach that encourages collaboration among healthcare professionals is recommended.

Introduction: Dysphagia after anti-reflux surgery (ARS) is one of the most common indications for re-operative anti-reflux surgery and a leading cause of patient dissatisfaction. Unfortunately, the factors affecting its development are poorly understood. We investigated the correlation between pre-operative manometric and the intra-operative impedance planimetry (EndoFLIP™) measurements and development of post-operative dysphagia.

Fragile X Syndrome (FXS), the most common inherited form of human intellectual disability, is a monogenic neurodevelopmental disorder caused by a loss-of-function mutation of the FMR1 gene. FMR1 is encoding the Fragile X Messenger Ribonucleo Protein (FMRP) an RNA-binding protein that regulates the translation of synaptic proteins. The absence of FMRP expression has many important consequences on synaptic plasticity and function, leading to the FXS clinical phenotype.

Immune checkpoint inhibitors have emerged as a promising cancer treatment, allowing significant and long-term therapeutic responses. Nivolumab, an anti-programmed cell death protein-1, is one of the molecules of this therapeutic class with known and manageable side effects. Giant cell arteritis is a rare immune-related adverse event most often manifested by headaches poorly released by common antalgics and can result in visual loss.

In order to meet growing consumer demands in terms of naturalness, the pharmaceutical, food, and cosmetic industries are looking for active molecules of plant origin. In this context, hairy roots are considered a promising biotechnological system for the sustainable production of compounds of interest. Poplars (genus Populus, family Salicaceae) are trees of ecological interest in temperate alluvial forests and are also cultivated for their industrial timber.

Among the large variety of messenger RNA (mRNA) delivery systems, those developed with lipid-based formulations were the most widely used and efficient. In our lab, we produced different mRNA formulations made with liposomes, hybrid lipid polymer, and lipid nanoparticles. Our formulations were made with lipids bearing imidazole groups that trigger the endosomal escape of nanoparticles once protonated inside the mild acidic milieu of endosomes upon their cell uptake.

Fragile X syndrome (FXS) is an inherited form of intellectual disability caused by the loss of the mRNA-binding fragile X mental retardation protein (FMRP). FXS is characterized by neuronal hyperexcitability and behavioral defects, however the mechanisms underlying these critical dysfunctions remain unclear. Here, using male Fmr1 knockout mouse model of FXS, we identify abnormal extracellular potassium homeostasis, along with impaired potassium channel Kir4.

The integration of diagnostic CT scans into PET/CT facilitates a comprehensive single examination, presenting potential advantages for patients seeking a thorough one-shot check-up. The introduction of iodinated contrast media during PET scanning raises theoretical concerns about potential interference with uptake quantification, due to the modification of tissue density on CT. Nevertheless, this impact appears generally insignificant for clinical use, compared to the intrinsic variability of standardized uptake values.

Introduction: This article is a summary of the French intergroup guidelines regarding the management of non-metastatic colon cancer (CC), revised in November 2022.
Methods: These guidelines represent collaborative work of all French medical and surgical societies involved in the management of CC. Recommendations were graded in three categories (A, B, and C) according to the level of evidence found in the literature published up to November 2022.

Background: Atopic dermatitis has a marked economic impact and affects the quality of life. A cosmetic compound with an innovative strategy is proposed here as a small chemical neutraligand, GPN279 (previously identified as a theophylline derivative), that binds and potently neutralizes the TARC/CCL17 chemokine, activating the Th2 cell-expressed CCR4 receptor.
Objective: Our objective was to evaluate the safety and activity of topically applied GPN279 in mild-to-moderate atopic dermatitis patients in a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, parallel group trial.

Background: Treatment with recombinant human erythropoietin (rHu-EPO) modestly prevented packed red blood cell transfusions (pRBCTs) in preterm infants in studies performed several years ago. In France, some neonatal units stopped using rHu-EPO, while others continued. The aim of this study was to explore the role of rHu-EPO in the prevention of pRBCTs in a recent cohort of preterm infants.

The catalytically inactive caspase-8-homologous protein, c-FLIP, is a potent antiapoptotic protein highly expressed in various types of cancers. c-FLIP competes with caspase-8 for binding to the adaptor protein FADD (Fas-Associated Death Domain) following death receptors' (DRs) activation via the ligands of the TNF-R family. As a consequence, the extrinsic apoptotic signaling pathway involving DRs is inhibited.

Heavy metal stress, including from chromium, has detrimental effects on crop growth and yields worldwide. Plant growth-promoting rhizobacteria (PGPR) have demonstrated great efficiency in mitigating these adverse effects. The present study investigated the potential of the PGPR strain EMCC1454 as a useful bio-inoculant for boosting the growth, performance and chromium stress tolerance of chickpea ( L.
