Transplantation of the gonadal tissue of male and female avian species, such as chicken, onto suitable surrogates and production of live offspring has been successfully demonstrated as a strategy for the conservation and re-constitution of valuable chicken germplasm. The main objective of this study was to establish and develop the male gonadal tissue transplantation technology for the conservation of the indigenous chicken germplasm. The male gonads of the Indian native chicken breed, Kadaknath (KN), were transplanted from a day-old donor to a recipient white leghorn (WL) chicken, and Khaki Campbell (KC) ducks, as surrogates.

Advancement in nanotechnology has unleashed the therapeutic potentials of dietary polyphenols by enhancing bioavailability, improving biological half-life, and allowing site-specific drug delivery. In this review, through citation of relevant literature reports, we discuss the application of nano-pharmaceutical formulations, such as solid lipid nanoparticles, nano-emulsions, nano-crystals, nano-polymersomes, liposomes, ethosomes, phytosomes, and invasomes for dietary polyphenols. Following this, we highlight important studies concerning different combinations of nano formulations with dietary polyphenols (also known as nanophytopolyphenols).

This aim of the study was to isolate and screen potential probiotics from Dioscorea villosa leaves. The potential isolate Y4 was obtained from the Dioscorea villosa leaves, and its ability to grow in a medium containing high NaCl concentrations (2-10%) indicated its negative hemolytic activity. Furthermore, Y4 demonstrated inhibitory activity against human pathogens, such as Klebsiella pneumonia, Staphylococcus aureus, Citrobacter koseri, and Vibrio cholerae, as well as towards a plant pathogen isolate OR-2 (obtained from Citrus sinensis).

Shelf-life of paddy straw mushroom could be extended to 3 days by pre-cooling mushrooms in air at 14 °C for 2 h followed by packing in 75 µ thick high impact polystyrene punnets with 1.2% perforations as primary package and subsequently stored in expanded polystyrene (EPS) cabinet as secondary package. The EPS cabinet has been designed for transportation of mushroom with ice as cooling aid to maintain the optimum storage temperature.
